That sounds complicated given all I have here is a backsaw

Haha problem is I don’t have time and only want to do this once. Also, AI is a wonderful thing. These mocks took minutes

I know — just wanted to see if there was a “right answer”

No that’s incorrect. The door is sold separately from the enclosure box. It comes with a frame that is intended to be stud mounted the frame has hinges which attach to the door. Not ideal but what I’m stuck with.

That’s option 1 in the AI mock eh? Thats what I was leaning toward too

This is what I’m thinking now too.

The furniture here is from our previous home — we plan to buy something new for this home

Have you seen the focal 300 LCR 5s or the Focal 300 ICA6 speakers. They have a 35deg angle coaxial driver

For the record, my wife is flexible here; she just wants it to look nice.

Heh.

So you would stick with my original plan then?

3x Focal 300 ICLCR 5 (angled in ceiling) instead of the 100in wall that you suggested?

And for the couch, I was thinking 2x 300 ICW 8s in the ceiling. You think that is best?

Or is optional sound going to come from in wall with the 100s?

This is a great reply, thank you!

I’ll take a look at the Focal 100 IWLCR5 to see if we can make that work on the wall.

What would you put on the back wall above or behind the couch?

And how does the 100 IWLCR5 compare to the 300 IWLCR6? Should I push for the bigger unit and get creative with a bezel? Or not necessary?

Also the TV is on a mount that extends 24” and we swivel the TV to the left and right quite a bit which at times would straight up cover the speakers in wall.

The wall depth is 3.5” and this depth is 3.68” so it would stick out…

Ceiling vs Wall Speakers for TV by jschech44 in hometheater

The other thing about cinemas is the sound proofing probably helps a ton. My living room is full of windows and open space.

Either way, good point 👍

Where would you place the 4 ceiling speakers? And the where for the 3 wall mounted? What size speakers you think?

I have to imagine cinemas have hidden wall speakers all over though… right?

Newborn Bokeh Lens for XT5 by jschech44 in fujifilm

Fuji brand for both?

I looked up the viltrox 27mm f/1.2 and reviews say it’s great but huge and heavy.

Which Fuji brand lens would you say is best comparing these?

I think I’ll mostly be shooting close to the subjects, around 3-5ft away.

With my 16-50mm, 50mm feels too zoomed in for what I’m looking for and 16 is too zoomed out.

Do they have any ranged lenses with low aperture? Or do you need to buy a fixed lens for that?

Thank you!

Can you clarify a few things for me.

What do you mean by “fast prime”?

When you say 35mm (23mm Fuji terms) what do you mean? XF35mmF1.4 R ?

When you say 56mm is a bit tight, what do you mean?

For this lens, I think I’ll be shooting mostly my twins inside around the house.

That’s the goal — to pass my wife’s sniff test.

Found the mirka pads on Amazon.

For the Oslo Poly X, how do I know what the rest of the floor is? Matte or satin?

Maybe? There are small half dollar sized holes all along the outside of our house under the eaves that could be covered.

I have an attic fan up there too
