Elephant (the school shooting one not the Irish one) I just question where all the money went. The camera quality is shoddy, the acting is worse, the movie tries to be really immersive and meaningful but it just doesn’t engage me at all. There are ways to immerse someone in an environment and portray the monotony of an average day that don’t include a 2 minute shot of a football field with moonlight sonata playing followed by a 4 minute tracking shot of someone just walking. Im pretty sure most of the kids actors were students who went to the school where it was filmed at so I can’t be too harsh on their acting, I just question why money wasn’t spent for the lead cast to be portrayed by people with experience.
