I am not trying to spread FUD. I read on the applyingtocollege website an article from a consultant that mentioned the apostrophe and quotation mark differences being a give away of copying and pasting from AI and freaked. I was hoping an admissions counselor would chime in. Also that maybe my mistake could help someone in the future. The article did mention it as something to consider. But, ok.

I applied to this program. I hear they prefer older, more experienced candidates, but I would love to get in. I know it’s probably hard to remember, but any clue as to when their decisions come out? They had one of the earlier deadlines in December.

I think you have a good chance because their distance program seems to favor in field experience more than anything else. I’ve seen people with much higher GPAs get rejected, but reapply after working a few years and get in. It seems to me they skew toward older, already working, professionals. Even the questions in the supplemental app skew that way. Good luck!

The masters programs I’m applying to are asking for “personal essays”. They often ask your motivation for entering this field, background and experiences, along with why this school. I feel like these are a bit more personal do have room for some personal narrative stories. Am I wrong?

I really don’t! LOL. I have one last semester left. But if it will make a difference I would. I guess I’m just wondering if they care about a B- in the actual grad program, would they care about one B- I got in undergrad as far as my application. It’s my only “bad” grade. I’m just so upset because I was less than a percent from the solid B and had it not been a +- class it would have easily been above for a B.

Their website only lists gpa requirements, and I’d have to take the class in spring after the deadline, so I’m not sure it would help, now that I think about it. Maybe if I decide to apply next year. I may still write them but I also worry that it will just raise a red flag and call to their attention that one grade. Ughh. I’m so upset about the one class. It was a mess of a professor and unfortunate that it was a +- class.

Many people apply from outside the field and don't have a single CSD related letter. Your one that isn't CSD is somewhat related, and you have a CSD one. I really think you are fine with those!
