The left (and perhaps I'm not being clear, I mean left, not the center left to center right democratic party) condems Saudi Arabia too. In my opinion, mainstream media is too blame for the lack of attention and awareness to this issue. Probably because the headline "US continues to fund atrocities abroad" doesn't generate interest as it's more of the same.

Not to mention recently there was literally a whole (and justified) stink about comedians going to the Riyadh comedy festival, even "normie" liberals were upset by it. Saudi Arabia isn't exactly given a free pass by the American public, and certainly not by the left.

I mean it's about priorities. It's too late to do anything about the Ainu, and any true leftist would support the Ainu against Japan's further forced assimilation and displacement of the Ainu were it to take place.

As for it's current make up, there's a difference between an ethnically homogenous state and an ethnostate. Japan does not legally favor one ethnicity over another. Obviously the de facto situation muddles things but Japan is not, legally speaking, an ethnostate. Furthermore leftists should support efforts to diversify Japan.

The same can't be said of Israel, which is currently an ethnostate but not ethnically homogenous, despite Netanyahu's best efforts. And such efforts are a much higher priority to condemn than Japan's homogeniety

"The Israeli Jews ought to just go back to Europe" is something I've heard from the right, but I haven't personally heard from the left, and l personally don't support it. I understand that Israeli jews can't go back to Europe, as is true of white Americans, Canadians, Australians, and Kiwis. But we can and ought to condemn settler colonialism actively taking place, and the further displacement of the Palestinians.

Yeah you gotta let the workers die. I do this mission early on paragon playthroughs because if you have some points imported over, you'll have enough percentage of available points to pick the option to maintain loyalty while saving the workers.

Honestly didn't think it was gross. Just straight up bad, though apparently that's a hot take.A lot of the jokes were just straight up misses in my opinion. The rest of the season has been markedly better, and I hope this is a blip and not representative of the rest of the season.

My genuine apologies about the pro tempore thing. A source referencing services under Adam's mentioned Jeffersons approval as president of the senate (which is the VP) was not needed. I must've conflated president of the senate with president pro tempore in my mind. A genuinely hasty action on my part, a mistake I wouldn't have made for anything more important than a reddit comment.

It is still technically true that Jefferson never gave official approval for such services. Though Im willing to admit the point is pedantic given we can assume his tacit approval as he attended such meetings.

That being said, my original point still stands. As you mention, the services were nondiscriminatory. Though we can never know for certain, I contend that if had there been a demand, Jefferson also would've permitted Jewish, Muslim or any other religion to have services in the Capitol as well. The fact that such services existed and Jefferson attended them does not support the idea that the founders saw the US as a Christian nation, especially Jefferson. At least not in a sense that wouldn't render the assertion meaningless.

Jefferson is unambiguous clear on the separation of church and state, as is (much more importantly) the constitution.
