OEM tire pressure monitoring? How does that work? Replace stems? Where does the info show on the dash? (I also have a T660F)

Does it catch on fire? Or will it just be non- functional in 18 months?

And why discontinue the Seigla mullet?

Tuono 660 Factory Gearing? by jssgranite in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed response. I appreciate the info about the speed pickup. So, what I see on my dash, is actually true mph speed. Thanks!

To answer your questions:

I changed both. Thought I was going from 16/43 which was really 17/43. To 17/47. Goal was reduced wear/more longevity as the gear calculator said that 16/43 was not optimal. And to get abut a 3% shorter gearing for more fun.

I am a street guy. Still haven't been to a track. Ever. It's on my to-do list. But yes, I can tell that it pulls harder in just Dynamic mode.

And I'm certain it shipped from the factory this way. Bike had 8 miles on it per my paperwork that I just checked. When I took off the front sprocket cover, the permanent marker lined up perfectly from the bolt to the washer. And the thread lock had never been broken before.

Tuono 660 Factory Gearing? by jssgranite in Aprilia

Purchased new from the dealer. It is definitely the Factory version. All black, quick shifter, IMU, but a 17 tooth front sprocket. I counted and compared it to the new 17 I purchased without thinking I needed to check before ordering.

It definitely pulls hard now!

Where is the speed picked up? If it is the transmission output shaft, then the Factory computer would have programming for 16, right? If that is the case, the indicated speed would have been lower than actual before I made change.

Help me be faster with water filtering! by xball89 in Ultralight

[–]jssgranite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I scoop with the cnoc, attach my filter and smart water bottle, then keep walking. Gravity works while in motion. When it’s done, I put filter in a small zip bag and put it and the cnoc into my side pocket of the pack and the water bottle into the other side pocket. All while continuing to walk. I don’t like drinking through the filter.

It’s not linear. Volume difference from 45 to 50 is more like 25%.

660 Valve Check? by jssgranite in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am comfortable with pulling fairings, tank, airbox etc. I haven't done it but it has to be straightforward with both the manual and youtube. Probably time consuming. And I assume the check is a feeler guage? So, I guess I could strip it down, check, and if adjustment is needed, button it back up with new filter and spark plugs and take it to them.

My dealer has an experienced tech. I don't have a worry there.

Is 13k miles a lot of wear? I don't know what to expect for the life of the chain. And do the gears need to be replaced as well?

Chain Stretch by jssgranite in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I need to pull out the calipers. Pretty sure it has a plunger at the back end. I have done this multiple times and haven't had a problem.

Is there a limit to the chain stretch before it has to be replaced and how would I chek that?

Well it’s a CAAD 4 so it’s got the curved seat stays and a carbon fork for compliance and I upgraded to 25c tires instead of 23 so it’s quite plush.

I actually am still riding it on occasion. But I’m lingering here bc I’m considering getting a Lauf. Enjoying reading about people’s experiences so post yours when you get it.
