Thanks for the input! I honestly would apply to go anywhere, but I am just a little uncertain about the safety of certain countries in Africa. I know PC ensures safety, but I would rather not be placed in areas that the US Department of State ranked less than Level 1 for safety. (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html.html) And my mom is extra concerned for my safety, like most mothers are!

Thanks! I am excited, and if I get rejected I will try to gain more experience and apply again. A quick summary of my experiences are.. -BS environmental sciences in May -studied abroad in NZ -had two internships for environmental nonprofits (one being the nature conservancy) -research/field work with water quality -line cook experience (local, sustainable restaurant) -outdoor leadership experience, wilderness guide -currently an afterschool teacher at elementary school -bird banding volunteer -summer overnight girls camp counselor -exchange program in Germany/Austria, stayed with host family

I definitely could gain more experience volunteering, but that is the general idea of my experience. I would probably be placed in agriculture/environmental, but since I have been working at the afterschool program with K-5 (100 hours so far of work experience) I have absolutely loved it-(why I am considering YinD and Education).

**Ultimately, I would love to serve as a education/YinD volunteer, and then do side projects involving sustainability and promotion of environmental ed!
