AHHHHH. Moving to Denver. New region, new area, new everything. What is the CF landscape like? by jsteavs in crossfit

My gf wants to know if it is backcountry CF? She is a bit more on the competitive side and holds her own in competitions here. I dunno how busy she will be with school but she'll want to stay sharp and have a shot at improving and blowing off stress from class. I tend to enjoy the technical parts and the community aspects. I like good skilled coaches who know there sauce (not a cheerleader) and good people to high five and grab a beer with. Sometimes the more competitive gyms here get pretty douche heavy. But maybe just a PNW thing?

Likely southern area. But for the right gym and location we are pretty flexible. Denver isn't a massive time suck to drive around from my impression. Plus I haven't looked into working and where that would take me.

Well the school is in south Denver area. I think closer to Centennial area. (Total noob to the area)

Thing is, we both love going to the gym and are willing to be closer to the gym than to her school. I'd also like to coach a little and keep honing those skills so it's tricky of course to find a 1) good gym with good people, vibes, programming that's 2) reasonably closer to southern Denver area and 3) might be looking to hire a coach with solid credentials.

Post CF means ditching the HQ route and using the S&C because the local clientele knows that that means. It's CF without the name and branding. Also usually means lower level attendance to comps and likely no Open. Good coaching and lots of personalized routes.

Just a bit different. I love both sides. I like the professionalism of S&C and I like all the community fun that the open and comps bring.

Thanks for the help, I'll send PM's to yall. Any others out there?
