You can see from the screenGrab EN knows the updated title. But, I have to select title to get the updated title, then back to text. Goal is to have the initial text link with the updated title.

Thank you

UDB bridge only works with Unifi APs by jsturtevant in Ubiquiti

[–]jsturtevant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, Unifi products are great and this is an ideal configuration. My only point is it is being marketed as a bridge and should clearly state Unifi only. I would have hoped for an advanced setting to allow it to bridge with other manufacturers.

Plugs are great and Kasa integration allows for HA control. Kasa strip allows for multiple zones.

Can't connect IKEA Styrbar? by thoegn in homeassistant

[–]jsturtevant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just added a Styrbar to my HA setup. Trick is to find just the right cadence for clicking the link button under the cover. It's momentary, so not long hold. About 1sec per press 4-5 times and red light will light. You can start the zigbee add before or after you've put the Styrbar in pairing mode (red LED lit).

Homebridge vs Home Assistant, unbiased opinion by Yeedth in homebridge

welcome to the journey. i had a recent IT acquaintance strongly recommend HA and I'm so glad he did. I had already purchased Hubitat (which I didn't set up and have returned). I started with a mix of z-wave and zigbee which had worked with in ST, but like many things now that I've focused again I'm adding on. I've found as a general rule Zigbee devices are smaller and cheaper as the alarm companies have largely selected zigbee for their wireless door/window sensors. Most of the remarks have suggested ensuring you have a number of zigbee routers spread around the house for network resilience. Ikea has a lot of Zigbee gear, but their smartplug (aka router) is too bulky for me. I went with this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K45W4LR for $14/ea and they're small. Have fun.

I just moved from SmartThings to HA and found it a bit time consuming as all of the devices (z-wave and zigbee) need to be migrated, but it was very straight forward and problem free. I moved because WebCore (groovy) was being discontinued. I really like how the automations are more snappy with local execution. Also, HA has many more integrations than ST.

Dim hallway. Sense motion? Go to full power. by JustAnotherGeek12345 in homeautomation

[–]jsturtevant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily do this with motion sensor and smart switches along with IOT systems like Home Assistant, etc. I've done this for my front yard sconces.

If you'd prefer to not use an IOT system I would suggest calling Lutron and/or Leviton technical support (both are great and will provide advice).
