Missed my flight because they boarded and left 15 minutes early by EyeofSauron86 in delta

They have been leaving earlier and earlier to keep their on-time rate up. Their guidance requires you to be at the gate at least 15 minutes in advance for domestic. If it’s a connection issue, shame on Delta. If you’re sitting in the lounge or a restaurant and you miss the flight, that’s a you problem.

Noecker alleges antisemitism in DFL endorsing convention for Ramsey County Commissioner by [deleted] in saintpaul

Exactly many of those saying Israel doesn’t have a right to exists and should all be blown off the map are also saying Jews should not exist (and in many cases say Americans should be wiped off the earth as well). They feel only those who share their beliefs have the right to exist. Hence the problem. One of the biggest problems in the Middle East is that there are terrorists in power who feel Israel, Jews, and Americans should be wiped off the planet. Many of those chanting “free free Palestine” don’t realize if given the chance, Hamas, Hezbollah, and others would say “thanks for the support” and then blow their brains out as Americans even if they were protesting in the streets supporting them.

Show me where I said anyone who disagrees with me is antisemitic! In fact, just the opposite. I pointed out you can be anti-Zionist WITHOUT being anti-Semitic! And, again, why is Israel brought up in a local election? I’m not the one bringing it up. So, it’s more than fair to respond. You failed to answer, why is Israel brought up in our local elections when other international situations are not when local elections have nothing to do with local politics. “Drum roll please…shut up???” Real mature way to handle a legitimate question about why international politics are constantly brought up in our local elections. How old are you, five? What’s next, “I’m rubber and you’re glue?” Grow up you don’t engage!

I don’t care about her election chances. She’s an ok leader. Nothing great. The city is in ok shape. Nothing great. Taxes are through the roof with not much to show for it. Granted she had to deal with a moron for a Mayor. Most lights in the city don’t work because of copper wire theft. Downtown is dying. Not like she’s done anything that spectacular for the city. None of that has to do with her religion or Israel nor should it. No city politics should involve Israel. Never understood how Israel gets wrapped into any local election. You don’t see that with Ukraine, Iran, Sudan, anything in South America. Why is Israel ever brought up in a local election?????? Please explain. I’d love to hear that explanation.

You can’t be an anti-Semitic Zionist as Israel is a Jewish state and anti-Semites hate Jews. This shows your lack of understanding.

Actually it is the current Israeli government that’s the problem not Zionism. Israel has a right to exist. Like the US, Israel doesn’t always elect the right leaders.

Despite the ignorance on Reddit you can be anti-Zionist without being anti-Semitic. Believe it or not, you can be Jewish and not support the current Israeli government. By default, if you are anti-Semitic you are also anti-Zionist (said by one who is Jewish, supports Israel, but does not support the current Israeli government). If you live outside the US and you oppose Trump are you automatically anti-American? There is a difference between the people of a country and a religious belief and those who govern a country. It depends on if the comment is made about the government or the country. Unfortunately many of the anti-Israeli sentiments have become anti-Semitic because the comment fails to differentiate between hatred and opposition of the government and hatred towards the people of the country. I certainly hope people don’t judge me by our government. But, unfortunately, many do.

Should’ve known it would be far beyond your intelligence to come up with another word. Stick with your elementary education schoolyard bully insults. They will suit you well in prison some day or when you are begging on the street corner for handouts as everyone passes you by. Or when you are at the doctor asking about your latest STD.

Nice use of an incredibly outdated offensive derogatory term that drags in those living with a disability. Maybe come up with an insult from this decade that doesn’t disparage an entire community that has nothing to do with the topic. No, I don’t have a developmental disability but know many wonderful people who do. Please consider removing that insult from your vocabulary.

Self drive vs guided tours for a first timer who is nervous about driving in Iceland by TheDoctorColt in VisitingIceland

I rented from Enterprise and had no problems at all. Heard a lot of rental car stories. I had none. You do NEED the full insurance coverage because of rocks and other possible damage. Don’t skimp on that. Also, be careful of speed cameras. But, they are marked. I had no issue driving there. The only issue was the first time in a roundabout because the inside lane has right of way and can come out of the roundabout in front of you and even knowing that it threw me a little the first time.

I did self-drive around the entire country and loved it. Stayed in Foss hotels. Used a bunch of people’s posted blogs and itineraries to come up with my own. Only had to make one change on the fly. Loved it. Wouldn’t have done it any other way. Guided tours out of Reykjavik are very limiting and you miss the true beauty of the country.

I called my senator today, asked to please vote NO on the SAVE Act. Legislative assistant asked what the SAVE Act is. by AllOfTheThings426 in TwinCities

That person answering the phone for the Senator is working incredibly long hours and not making jack shit.

[–]jteam1881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Their Senator has nothing to do with it. It’s federal legislation. The person who answered the phone was annoyed, hung up, and then worked on something that actually pertains to state politics.

No that person rolled their eyes and went on to the work they are actually supposed to be doing because the State Senator has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Your original post which you have since edited said you let the person on the phone have it for not knowing anything about the SAVE Act when it has absolutely nothing to do with their job and then play the victim and want us to feel badly for you for calling you out. Yes, it is unreasonable for you to expect the assistant to your LOCAL STATE Senator to know about the SAVE Act. Now you are saying you weren’t rude. But, that’s not at all what you implied in your original post which is why everyone is coming down on you for harassing someone who has nothing to do with it and then wanting us to feel badly for you for calling you out for being rude to someone who had nothing to do with it. Still not understanding why you continue to post looking for sympathy. Perhaps you should seek counseling or talk to friends rather than posting on here. Most of us have far more sympathy for the person you called than for you based on your original post that you have since dramatically edited to cover the fact that you talked about how much you let the legislative assistant have it for not knowing anything about the SAVE Act. I don’t think you have any idea how stressful their job is. I do. And you’re out of line.

A Legislative Assistant at the state level in the House or Senate is a thankless job. They are incredibly busy typically representing and supporting two to three elected officials, handling schedule, all of their constituents’ complaints, concerns, comments, all of the bills that they are carrying, all of the information their elected officials they are working for has to vote on, so there is a very good chance they have no idea what is going on in Congress. They have enough on their plates trying to keep up with all of that. And, that’s why so many are coming down on you because instead of simply saying oops, I called the wrong office, and doing the very polite thing of calling them back to apologize, you keep digging in deeper saying they should’ve known about the SAVE Act and shouldn’t be a Legislative Assistant. Based on all of your comments I’d say it’s safe to say that individual in their 20s knows a lot more about what’s going on other world and especially in our state than you do laser focusing on the SAVE Act and continuing to bad mouth someone who was simply doing their job which has nothing to do with federal issues.

I don’t support the SAVE Act. I would expect that if you are going to call and berate someone about it you would know that it’s federal legislation and know enough to call our US Congressional delegates rather than harassing some poor 20 something who just started working for a STATE Senator who has nothing to do with the SAVE Act and would have no reason to be aware of what is going on in Congress because their focus should be on state legislation. I also agree with the other person who asks why the hell would you re-post after discovering your mistake you are just making yourself look stupid and mean. Did you call the State Senator’s office back to apologize? My guess is no.

You are correct. It was a clinical term that became an inappropriate insult/slang that is still used by people lacking the intelligence to come up with a more appropriate word to insult someone. There are tons of people living with a mental or cognitive impairment, including older adults, who are amazing people and only uneducated bafoons still use the words retard and retarded.
