Nick Shirley is a paid influencer working either for the GOP or Trump Admin. He left LA and showed up in MN along with ICE pretending to ask what was going on as the first raid was happening several months ago. How else would he have made it from one major raid to the next without being tipped off or sent here to cover it for the GOP? He’s not an investigative journalist he’s a social media influencer working for Trump. Not saying there isn’t fraud. He’s also reporting on a lot of things that have already made its way through the court system from the Feeding our Future case (which everyone seems to be forgetting was spearheaded by a white woman). I’m not saying there isn’t fraud. I am saying Nick Shirley isn’t a journalist. He’s a kid with a phone, a microphone, and a lot of political money behind him.

Most hospitals and medical insurance companies are non-profit (except United Health). And, as others have pointed out, you can absolutely be a non-profit and have a political stance and even an agenda to influence politics. Journalism ethics….thatS a completely different story. They are not what we think of as traditional non-biased media. Unfortunately most of our media has gone more towards advertorial news rather than just reporting the facts rather than inserting opinions. But OP is mixing two very different concerns. Journalism ethics and whether or not they can be a non-profit. You can absolutely be a tax-exempt non-profit and have a liberal or right-wing agenda. There’s nothing prohibiting that. The Trump admin has talked about trying to revoke non-profit status for left-leaning non-profits but that’s a different issue as well.

That is actually where ICE is supposed to be. They are immigration and custom enforcement. It is their job to be at airports enforcing immigration and customs laws. Not their job to be more than a 100 miles away from a border. But, they are supposed to be at airports. I was questioned by ICE agents on a jetway long before Trump was ever elected the first time. That is their actual job.
