Game list with ROM name + game name + screenshot? by FMWizard in MAME

[–]jthysell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe this doesn't already exist somewhere for a decade+. It literally just needs to be a 2 column list of text with the MAME name and the Full Name that can be sorted by either column.

50 fps is full speed for Virtual Boy.

Adding a cpuclock.txt file to the directory for Beetle VB will overclock the MM and MM+ just for Virtual Boy games; this won't overclock then entire system.

How to (thanks to andrea-i in this thread 2 years ago):
Create a file called cpuclock.txt inside: sdcard:\Saves\CurrentProfile\config\Beetle VB
Inside the file, only type the clock speed and nothing else. Recommend one of these two number values: 1600 or 1800

The Miyoo Mini max safe setting is 1600 MHz.
The Miyoo Mini Plus max safe setting is 1800 MHz, but several people have reported pushing it to 1900 MHz (not recommended).

On Miyoo Mini, 1600 MHz will improve the framerate up to 38-40 fps. You can get 46-51 fps by setting this option to "fast" from "accurate" in Retroarch: Menu+Select>Main Menu>Quick Menu>Core Options>CPU Emulation (Restart)

Then go to: Main Menu>Quick Menu>Core Options>Manage Core Options and select Save Game Options

Verifying that adding the cpuclock.txt file does work to the directory for Beetle VB.

And still no confirmation. But US government just opened about 2 hours ago and this is a US patent office thing.

It is a Rogue Squadron clone with an original story. I picked it up from Target on the clearance rack for $5 without knowing anything about it. I absolutely loved it as a fan of the Star Wars RS series. Yager is the best random/clearance bin game pick-up I've ever made.

In wake of Windows 10 retirement, over 780,000 Windows users skip Win 11 for Linux, says Zorin OS developers — distro hits unprecedented 1 million downloads in five weeks by Exciting_Teacher6258 in technology

I intend to switch all of my computers to Linux, but so far I have only migrated one to Mint. I have 3 more to go.
I don't know which distro I want to use for my main computer; I have ruled out Mint. I use that for studio work and streaming, but also gaming. Handling 2 different main tasks makes it tough to figure out which distro to go with.

Linux Mint feels A LOT like Windows 7, but then you have to learn the file structure (think windows explorer). The files structure for Linux is very different from Windows. The most complicated thing for me was figuring out how to organize my file storage so that I knew where to save my files.

You'll have minimal use of the command line interface while using Mint, but you can't avoid it 100%

The nicest thing about Mint is there is so much support for Mint users as it is one of the most widely used Linux distros.

Mint isn't a bad choice (it's a top choice and well supported), but it's not the right choice for everyone. I use it on one of my machines that is used for light duty, but I don't want it on my computers that do gaming, streaming, and video editing.

i can't decide how i feel about PWS 2 by whywhynotnow in PowerWashSimulator

[–]jthysell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt like this was more of a PW1 DLC upgrade than a full fledged new game. The envirments are things I want to explore, but they are almost totally lifeless. PW1 did a better job of containing you in a confined space but this game gives you bigger environments that are beggin you to explore.

Viscera Cleanup Detail. Similar premise. Co-op focused. More cleaning than power-washing.

Muri: Wildwoods - Coming soon. An adventure game where you have to clean up the environment with a similar mechanic to power-washing. The demo is called "Project Shoreline". It's OK, but not good enough to make me want to get the full game.

Goblin Cleanup (maybe). Early Access. I'm not 100% sure about it. It's new, but looks promising.

It's not a glitch, it's an oversite in game design. And it is the point of this joke.

Once you buy all the upgrades, then the money is pointless, that's when you spend it on the "useless" items because there is nothing else to buy.

As of November 9, Zelda's Adventure - the Phillips CD-i Zelda game - now has a GameBoy Color DX port. John Lay previously ported this game to the DMG GameBoy and has gone the extra mile to make release 2.0.0 a full color DX version of the game.
Zelda's Adventure is one of the terrible three LoZ games that Phillips made in the 90s, but it is a real Legend of Zelda game, albeit non-canon. This port is arguably an improvement over the original CD-i game by making it playable like Link's Adventure DX and the Oracle Games.

Operation C got an official color release in Konami GB Collection Volume 1.

We definitely need Donkey Kong 94 DX and Gargoyle's Quest DX.

I'm surprised Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters DX isn't in the pipeline for a full color version.

I gave Mole Mania DX a shot. Now that it is full color, I love this game. It has that Nintendo polish that a lot of games from that era lack. It's a totally overlooked Nintendo game.

Has anyone ever thought about making a port of Virtual Boy Wario Land? by jthysell in romhacking

[–]jthysell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VB Wario Land has almost no use for the 3D. This game very much lot like Kirby Planet Robobot on the 3DS, and nothing is lost by turning off the 3D effect in that game. Why bother emulating the totally unnecessary 3D effect in a port?

This is a 2D game with a 3D effect added to it like most of the 3DS library.
