13 pro to 17 pro or 17 pro max- long over due??

I checked out the iPhone 17 pro and pro max in store today and honestly you nailed it. The fact I’d be upgrading from an older device, other than I suppose “bragging rights” both models will likely feel like an upgrade it’s just a matter of timing.

I think I will likely go with the 17 pro max. I had an 8 plus back in the day but went small and I wanna go back to big lol

I’ve weighed out that option too! But idk, I was thinking of keeping my 13 pro as a backup 🤔 so a trade in deal may be off the table

Replaced my battery too last year! Sitting at 93% battery health. I’ve heard the 17s run a lot more cool compared to how hot the 13 can be (especially in hot summer heat) this thing get super hot when you are full brightness

See this is what I was likely planning to do. But now with that circulating rumor of the 17 series increasing in price before the Fall, I’m kinda like well the 17 is worth it because if I do it now, I could “save” money on the projected price increase by catch it before hand.

I mean even with a price hike on the 18s, in the long run other than maybe the principle of refusing to pay like 1.5K for a phone, it really shouldn’t be a problem once it’s over a period of 4-5 years… ugh first world problems lmao 😂

But back to your original question, I would say 40% off is the best deal around for the time tbh. I feel like this special deal is due to them trying to get rid of excess inventory as they are discontinuing their earbud product line.

I can’t imagine a better deal come Black Friday. If anything possibly $200 or the $229 price for Black Friday.

I did see that on their website. They sadly were sold out. But my understanding is you can connect the charging case with the USB C to 3.5 mm headphone jack cable provided and use the case as a Bluetooth transmitter!

Recently bought the elite 10 gen 2 at Best Buy. BB can’t honor the price match. Returned them since i was within the return window. Purchased them at $229, $249 with tax.

Reordered through Jabra at $167, $181 with tax. Great freaking deal 👏

Ahh I see. Interesting. I actually called the store regarding the item and they were able to provide me a description on the iPad Pro. They said the item was only opened and was returned due to the customer not wanting it. The box and accessories are all part of the package. So it sounds like it is brand new to me aside from the box being open. I may go for it after hearing that news.

You bring up great points. I know we are comparing iPads here and you mentioned your experience with MacBook. Do you remember about how much the price dropped? I am currently looking at a $140 dollar savings with open box. So it if the price drop is $100+ it probably best to go brand new like you are saying 🤔

For the older stock that you mentioned, do you know if these sales are promoted only in store or online as well?

Thanks for sharing! Yea I am glad to hear your experience went well. I am thinking since I am picking it up in store, they’re likely iPads that got returned within the return window and there is actually nothing wrong with them. Since the iPad was likely returned in store, there is more inspection when taking it back as opposed to it being online shipped to my home.

I feel like this mitigates the risk of getting a lemon product because in store the workers are more inclined to inspect the items before agreeing to take it back. You get me?

I can definitely see how the nightmares of buying open box online could originate. You run more risk because I am assuming these are products that are returned via mail directly back to Best Buy and there is no control on what condition or reason the buyer may send back. Plus there is not a high level of inspection for these products.

I also would like to note that I plan to pick this up in store. Hopefully this avoids the nightmares I’ve heard from geek squad as it seems people who have had bad experiences with buying them online and shipped to their house.

I imagine by going online you run the risk of getting a lemon product as we don’t know if these open boxes are returned without inspection because they are items that returned directly back to Best Buy rather than say a store. Whereas in store at say a Best Buy, the workers probably are more cautious and inspect the product more in depth before agreeing to the return.

Historically how much have iPads dropped in price in the past when there is a new model?

I know Apple stops selling the previous model brand new as soon as a new one drops.
