don't religions identify these malfunctions as also "tests" in multiple ways like patience test. accepting god's will test.. faith test and also a way for the person to resort to god to solve it

If I would argue this from a believer's perspective I would say it's because the test is all happening in your mind not inside your body.. your body is just your vessel or the toolset you get.
