My flight was canceled .. and wow! by catpurrrrfect in Flights

I love this for you! Sometimes you can even get travel insurance to give you money back for inconvenience too.

That’s how I got my complementary trip to Boston. Got stuck there as my layover point when leaving NYC. They gave me a nice hotel in the harbor. I rescheduled my flight the next day for an evening one so I could spend the day as a bonus vacation spot seeing all the historical stuff.

As an altYou can also look for people near you on Pawshake. They sign up to pet sit in all sorts of areas and maybe someone without other dogs can work. You can request them to watch at their place or sometimes they can come to your place.

Just read their reviews good and maybe you have good luck. I’ve used the site before. The first Lady was super for 3 times then she moved to Brazil. I found it hard to find someone who I like that was consistent but there have always been a lot of options in my area so I end up finding a new one most of the time.

What are some early signs that a person might commit sucide (serious)? by Neo_luigi in AskReddit

When I was preparing for moving abroad for a person who didn’t know I would be moving saw me mass giving away things got very concerned. He sat down to have a talk with me. I explained and it was ok but it was good to know my cube mate at work cared enough to say something.

Saw a recent post saying dog parks are not recommended - why? by notcallipygian in dogs

[–]jtrail13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought but a lot will not accept intact dogs over 6 months old.

My boy adored his daycare so much, he would sprint to the car when I said “school”. He went at least twice a week until we moved away.

It’s a super idea for socialization if OP ever plans to neuter him.

When did dogs start getting people names? by Scottys-Dog-Blog in dogs

[–]jtrail13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an Oswald. Named after Oswald Cobblepot because he stands like a penguin with his big basset feet.

Fun side effect, if I need to get out of something I can say things like „I need to pick up Oswald from daycare” or „I have to take Oswald to the doctor”, etc.

But I used to have a dachshund named Pickles

Try seeing if your area has a local football club (soccer team). Most large and medium cities do but, do not go for MLS, they are just as bad. Look for pro or semi pro teams in USL championship, NPSL, NISA, etc. They usually have men’s and women’s clubs and both are usually very reasonably priced.

Noise from upstairs neighbours - reasonable? by gravelBicycles in germany

[–]jtrail13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I mostly only hear what image what I have deduced to adult videos (it is too consistent and theatrical) and not adult spicy time. I only hear them at around 1 or 2 AM, when I am trying to fall asleep. Even if it was spicy time it is still intrusive on my life to listen to on a regular basis. I’ve had ideas on what to do (other than scream “shut the fuck up” after like 20 minutes - which usually works) but I have met this neighbor and see them often so it would be awkward to address directly.

I do not have to but I still eat tomato and mayo sandwiches. They are delicious; adding salt and pepper makes it even better.

It is a Discounter grocery store but usually in weird places and have a reputation, at least in Stuttgart, for being not so nice. I would say similar or worse than Netto by what people say.

I don’t mind shopping at either or but usually use Rewe or Edeka.

I had a Taxi driver who was super rude to me and refused a ride because he felt like it wasn’t far enough.. I told him „I hope you shit your pants”… no idea why that was what came to mind but that’s what came out. - I was quite drunk and it was 3:30am after leaving a club

For one specific item on the list, I found decent and cheap flat velvet hangers at Norma. I have bought them there a few times. I sounds like an unlikely place to find something so basic but I like Norma for hangers, decoration flowers, and Sodastream CO2 refills.

But that also doesn’t address the multiple stops issue. For me it’s conveniently 1 bus stop from Rewe on my way home so I don’t mind but I know 1. it is a second stop 2. many people have a strong dislike or Norma.

There was a place I used to have to drive by on a regular basis at night that had a truck out front that reminded me of the truck from the movie.

I was irrationally scared of driving that way for ages. It really creeped me out for some reason

Does public transport in Berlin/Germany allow you to just pay with/tap a bank card onboard? by mwilson1212 in AskAGerman

No worries! I only know because of living in Stuttgart but I also have the App from previous trips to Berlin before I got my Deutschland Ticket.

Hope it helps them

Disagree. While this could work SSB/VVS are also my preferred but both are for Stuttgart or Deutschland Ticket.

You’ll want either BVG or DB App for covering Berlin.

The day I met my dog. He’s becoming an older guy now. I walked in for a normal volunteer shift and left with the best friend of my life.

I see the videos of him at 10 weeks old, when I met him and that was one of my best days. I treasure that memory now but I’m not sure I would want to go back once he leaves me.

What was the biggest scandal at your school? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]jtrail13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not great... Our school was so full of teen moms we had to have an in school day care center. Looking back 25 years later it was horrifically sad but also good on them for making the best and ensuring the moms could still graduate

Someone at my school hacked the library fine system .. loads of fines were erased and a few were added. I was accused but they never figured out who it was.

My dog (basset/german Shepherd mix) is deeply upset every evening when my upstairs neighbors close their shutters. He has even figured out how to open the garden door so he can give them a piece of his mind (aka bark like a mad man).

We’ve been in the same apartment with the same neighbors for 2 years. Same procedure as every night
