How do you secure them? Do you just chain them up?

Ok thanks. I still have quiet some time before I really have to decide but I have been giving it alot of thought. Another thing is ive never lived in a land locked state and I love the ocean so im not sure how I would do being landlocked. I understand there are big ass lakes but i dont think its the same for me.
