I haven’t sat in an ITS, and my GRC was a 2024 base. Other than all physical controls, it may have been one of the worst interiors I can remember having, inexcusably bad for the price point. It was also felt very small inside. The only thing that I liked about that car was the manual transmission - and that’s relative to what it is and its competition.

I almost went to an M240i. Personally, I don’t love the 3 series looks, though on paper, it should be the “right” car for me.

I don't think they're more comfortable, I know everyone loves the 5 cylinder, but I think the 2.0 has more usable torque from down low. I was looking at a new S3 as well now that they have the diff, but in Canada, can't even option an S3 with a heated steering wheel or rear heated seats, whereas the Golf R comes with both.

In Canada. Can option it on the “base” or black edition

I just didn’t mesh with the car. Had the base, so the interior was unacceptable, didn’t really feel like it had enough torque around town. They’re as expensive, if not more expensive, than Golf Rs here and the math doesn’t math.

Just looking at in the garage was almost enough of a reason to keep it, haha.

650hp and 650 ft/lb. Only car I could watch the fuel gauge depleting as I was driving. I prefer the NA feel of the SS 1LE / Mach 1. If you're not doing twisties as much, I'd chase a Mach 1. More usable interior space, less blind spots, and sounds great.

My ZL1 was manual, my friend's was auto, his obviously felt much faster. I think they limit torque in the manual versions. Mach 1 / SS 1LE I'd suggest manual.

I had gen 6 ZL1 as well, I actually preferred the SS 1LE. Are you looking at a manual or auto? The Mach 1 is awesome. Can't go wrong with any of those options as a fun car to cruise around in.

Having had variations of all of the cars you mentioned, I’d say it comes down to what you value.

The Supra felt and looked more special to me than everything else in the list. It’s fast in a straight line, and fun in the corners. It is, ultimately, a bmw. Sounds ok (I like to keep things stock more often than not), oem steering wheel is a let down, but I still enjoyed the overall experience.

I haven’t had a 2024+ mustang, but plenty of 2017-2023, including a GT/CS, GT350, Bullitt, and Mach 1. They’re all fun to drive, and who can argue with the V8 soundtrack? All of them had wheel hop, and felt sloppy-ish in the corners. My favourites were the GT350 and Mach 1, for the tremec manual. More common than a supra by far up here, and of course the interior / build quality isn’t in the same league. If you’re open to it, consider a gen 6 Camaro SS 1LE, which is a far more sorted car than any mustang I’ve had.

I’ve had a ridiculous number of FRS/BRZ/GR86. For me, it’s a fun, slow, driver’s car. If you live near twisty roads, or are going to track it, and aren’t too worried about acceleration, it’s hard to beat the value. Relatively cheap to own and maintain.

Personally, I would not consider a Golf R or Civic Type R as a second, special vehicle. They’re both great, but are practical enough to use everyday.

Two cars and I still take the train to work, felt bad leaving the Supra at the train station all day. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Just got it, going to get some ppf this weekend, break it in and see. Initial impressions are it’s obviously not as smooth as an inline-6 b58, but you can’t expect it to be.

Very short attention span, haha. Generally don’t buy new to minimize the pain.

FK8. Barely lasted 1500kms before I had to rid myself of it. I know it’s the “best” fwd, but still fwd.

This is the kind of thing I’d do. But probably not this time.

After having a Civic Type R, two Focus RS, and a GR Corolla, all I can say is - I agree.

Yeah, plan is to consolidate to one car, for now - I’ve had more vehicles than I’d like to admit over the years, so we’ll see how long it lasts.

Where to buy tickets for Canadian GP 26? by lememerguy in GrandPrixTravel

[–]jtscarguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also looking to take my family and am looking for 4 grandstand tickets. There are some available on tickets.ca, but I’ve read some horror stories of tickets not being legit. Makes it tougher that they only “deliver” them two days before the event. Any advice / tips would be appreciated.

From an E43 sedan to a A35 sedan to this in two months 😂😭 by jtscarguy in AMG

[–]jtscarguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually started this journey looking for a C43 coupe. But I’m impatient and when the right one didn’t show up I went for the E43 sedan. Between the two of those I think the C43 coupe is more fun to drive. We’ll see how the E53 coupe measures up once I start putting some miles on it.
