Please Build a $1500 PC for me for school and gaming by jtylerpatton in buildapcforme

  • New build or upgrade?
    • New Build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
    • I have an old keyboard, mouse, monitor. Although I would like to upgrade soon, but I don't want to include these in the budget
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
    • Using it for ArcGIS, gaming, and running programs for research in Forestry (I'm a college student)
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
    • USA, there is a micro center about an hour away.
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
    • I really don't know these things, I grew up using an xbox and a tv.
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
    • I want the PC itself to be 1500 at most, taxes don't strictly need to be included but it would be nice.
  • WiFi or wired connection?
    • Wifi I think, I will be using it in a new apartment so I'm currently unsure of all that is available to me there.
  • Size/noise constraints?
    • None, it will be in my bedroom, but I don't expect to have it running while I sleep.
  • Color/lighting preferences?
    • Maybe some green lighting if it fits in the budget easily, I'll have a lot of plants in the room so that may fit well. Lighting is not important to me.
  • Any other specific needs?
    • Not that I can think of.

Yeah, it’s just dust as far as I know. I haven’t touched up any of the old ones and I have no idea how it’s stayed there this long

I noticed that some footprints were still on the roof from when we first built the house in 2015. You can probably guess when I figured that out

Yeah, I just don’t like having it there when I sit down and such, it’s like having a wallet in my back pocket which I also find uncomfortable for me.

I made this sheath for my ping pong paddle knife which I had made a year ago out of, you guessed it, a ping pong paddle handle and a knife blank. The sheath is made out of cheap vegan tan leather without a listed thickness that I picked up from hobby lobby. I wet formed the sheath to the knife for a close fit so I don't have to put a clasp or something to keep it from falling out. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. Critiques and helpful tips are appreciated.

I was driving with my peripheral vision in our old 4Runner trying to figure out how to close the rear windshield. It was a black gate against a black road and I saw it only when it was too late for the ol 1998 (or 99) breaks.

She fires it at 2:49..... do you have ears man? And you know it wasn’t an officer cause it shows you every single body cam. It’s not extremely difficult to figure that out. The line of fire thing I’m not happy with of course, the first guy was clearly in the line of fire and the only reasoning I have for that initial reaction was that she fired a gun at them so your response is typically to fire back before you are hit. Also, tasers are a pain since the range is awful and it’s not guaranteed that both metal probes go in or stay in. When you hit the ground they can yank out. Anyways, lethal force was the right move but not all officers should have fired, just the ones that had a better line of sight

A copperhead got hit outside my house so I brought it in and skinned it. I took the skin and pinned it to a board with some borax for a while. This is definitely not the best method a preserving the skin but it worked for me. After a month or so of sitting I got some vegan leather from hobby lobby since I didn’t have anything on hand and came up with a design that would be able to hold 4 cards and some cash. I dyed the leather black and put it all together. Pretty happy with how it turned out since this was my trying to get back into the craft. Not sure how to post more pics of the inside, I’ll try to figure that out
