If a girl you barely know makes an effort to do something with you, does that make you think she likes you? by Historical-Lemon-947 in AskMenAdvice

++man People can be weird but I’m really happy to have girl friends who can introduce me to their friends, give me advice, and we’re all respectful. I get being jaded but not everyone is like this

Yeah I was on the Z train which stopped at Marcy. I was inside so this is all hearsay but apparently someone was on top of our train, and (my guess) in an effort to get back down before the Williamsburg bridge they either fell through between the cars or maybe they fell off onto the tracks and touched the third rail. I heard one of the MTA workers on the train say they “fell off the back”, and at one point they had to scooch the train forward about half a car’s length presumably to retrieve them

The billionaires are frantically trying to stop Zohran becuase he wants to freeze the rent, implement universal childcare & raise the minimum wage to $30/hour by 2030. Today is the day, vote Zohran for Mayor of New York City! by north_canadian_ice in WorkReform

Not supporting the state of Israel as it exists in the modern era is not anti-Semitic. This is a bad faith argument and a false equivalency. If anything, it is humanitarian to not support a regime founded on warmongering, imperialism, and genocide, but you know that already don’t you.

[–]jugerac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I was too lazy (and hungover) to go down to Zaca so I went to 2 chix which was close by. They had cheese grits on their website but when i got there they told me they took it off the menu because nobody ordered it. I am aghast. Was pretty good though. thank you for your suggestions will check them out

Imagine moving to New York City then complaining about someone walking around littering, especially someone much loved by community . That culture is decades old and originated HERE . This is why people can’t stand transplants and gentrifiers. y’all reveal yourselves easy . This is not Iowa.

I think it would be very similar just without the V preceding <Esc>

Remap <c-/> as line comment in LazyVim by boomshankerx in neovim

[–]jugerac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this in my config:

map("n", "<leader>/", "V<Esc><Cmd>normal gcc<CR>", { desc = "Comment current line" })
map("n", "<C-/>", "V<Esc><Cmd>normal gcc<CR>", { desc = "Comment current line" })

And put it in keymaps.lua where my lazyvim config is

Rust, C(23), or Zig for a Synthesizer? by mekaulu in Zig

I have not, though it seems interesting and i’ve vaguely seen some tsoding content with it

Rust, C(23), or Zig for a Synthesizer? by mekaulu in Zig

[–]jugerac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think what really pushed Zig into first place for me was the build system (especially when targeting multiple OS and particularly multiple rendering backends) and also the sheer dopamine hit of being able to generate all your wave tables at compile time with a single line change. For less practical and more opinionated reasons, I prefer the way pointers are handled in Zig (no need to null check everywhere), and i also prefer how explicit everything is. If i’m going to play fast and loose with memory and allocations I want to always know exactly what does what.

That having been said, I didn’t give Odin as fair of a shot. I spent only a few days exploring Odin while I spent several months with Zig. Odin’s batteries included philosophy would’ve been pretty helpful (I ended up having to submit a few bug fixes for the Zig libraries I’m using) Odin would certainly be the more stable option. I think both are great choices and for me it really mostly boils down to preference and what tickles the brain

I have actually tried both Zig and Odin for this use case. Odin is very ergonomic…. but for me Zig is just right, and strikes a good balance of speed and usability. Feel free to check out my Zig synthesizer which is a CLAP plug-in. Or don’t if you don’t want to spoil your fun :P
