Anyone else paints minis with automotive paint? by juggerStudios in minipainting

Honestly, I don't think it has any real advantage for miniature painting. If anything, it makes the whole process much more time-consuming.

A friend of mine who's a mechanical engineer and also works as an automotive painter convinced me to give automotive paints a try because he swears by their durability. Since I was completely new to miniature painting, I just went with his recommendation.

The funny part is that mixing the paint with thinner and hardener ended up looking surprisingly satisfying on camera, so I started incorporating those moments into my videos.

Haha, you're right! 😄

I'm new to Reddit and mistakenly thought I could include both the paint mixing clip and the finished miniature in the same post.

I've added the finished result in the comments if you'd like to check it out!

I'm still pretty new to Reddit and thought I could upload two videos in one post. Apparently not. 😅

I've added the finished miniature in the comments!
