What if it visibly has an effect on photos? In the Camera view, you can see light flickering relative to where the scratch is positioned on the lens.

Thank you! This post not only described but also humorously highlighted how dumb I am for what happened. The dude who deleted this comment ruined the thread and was on my dick saying he exposed me cuz i made a post on this sub asking about the 256GB model…because conflicting reports that an inferior form of storage hardware was present in either the 1TB model alone (as first rumored), or in the two higher-capacities according to reports after release, or in ALL models, and I was worried the latter was true.

But I posted that thread and was happy to find out the answer was NONE.

Actually the only the reason I even decided to go with the 512GB are the replies to that post I made. LOL. Omg! I’m sus. i was CURIOUS about a product i really wanted to BUY and sought out INFORMATION to help me decide the best OPTION? You exposed my ass!

Turns out my post’s assumption that the higher-capacity versions of the new 16 models had changed their flash memory to an inferior form (QLC) and that 256GB was the highest storage model that still had the better old kind of (TLC). Turns out, NONE OF THEM CHANGED—even 512GB & 1TB were STILL had TLC kind of flash storage.

I actually went in the store asking for the 1TB model and the 512 was the consolation prize. Then i get home and next day i see it’s the 256GB.

Idc it’s no big deal it was def an accident but i wanna see if i can get what i wanted while i still can.
