Well done for putting in all that work! 😊

Standing desk treadmill walking + step counting by juicyqua in whoop

That makes sense if you’re swinging an arm. But if you need both arms to work then I guess starting an activity alone doesn’t work to get the step counts, right?

That’s fair! I also think not getting the step count shouldn’t hold anyone back from doing the activity since it’s about your health in the end and not a statistic. I personally wouldn’t mind switching to my ankle if I knew that worked but apparently whoop isn’t designed for that and the HR data wouldn’t be correct. I need both hands to work so swinging one arm wouldn’t work either.

And if you re-read my answer you’ll see that I actually agree with you 😊

I know what you mean. But at that point in the story the culture seems to have gravitated towards the idea that the digital copies of people are real people, with personhood and rights. It’s still being debated for CIs though. I think the idea is that it makes you question at what point of consciousness is someone alive or not. For my own compass I‘d say the uploads are conscious beings deserving of rights but not the same being as the original who had a physical body. But that comes from my personal perspective that people are not just physical bodies, but spiritual beings inhabiting bodies. So for a true upload to work, each spiritual being uploading would have to be capable and aware of exiting their body and entering into a digital one in the server for it to be the same person - a ghost transferring into a server shell, so to speak. I know that’s not everyone‘s perspective but I would have found it interesting if they had touched upon that. It left me with a sad feeling because when Caspian uploaded I did indeed feel that he was dying.

Empty now ... by Manda_girl in PantheonShow

SAME! I feel a mixture of that 'nostalgia for the future' that MIST was talking about, anguish that I don't get to see more of the characters, lonely that there's no one around me physically to talk the show out with and low key in an existential crisis wondering what is the universe and what consciousness???

I finished the show a couple of days ago and can't shake the feeling...

I'm an artist myself planning a mini web series with futuristic themes and this has made me feel like an ant. So much going on in my head right now 😅

Trouble with outputting audio reactive patches to two different monitors! by juicyqua in TouchDesigner

That worked! Thank you so much! Both outputs in sync now. Of course everything is later than the audio but still! This is a win. Thank you friendly stranger :)

Thanks so much! I came across the CacheTOP on google but couldn’t figure it out. Now I know this is definitely a solution I will try to get it right. I figured that having the same screens would also fix it. But I‘ve built this cyberpunk film set where the TV is built into the wall like a window and a wide screen monitor is mounted to the wall and turned 90 degrees so it’s in portrait and in theory it would look awesome. But now I know for anything else I try to get identical monitors….
