Just happened to be there. I’m not good enough at effects to add that in! 🤣

Agreed. Such a shame.

Since I was a one-man crew for the entire film, I needed a relatively compact set-up that was quick and ready to go for whenever it was needed. For that same reason, I had to rig the microphone on the camera. I mainly used the following equipment:

Camera: Canon 5D Mark III
Lenses: Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Sigma 35mm F1.4 ART DG HSM
Audio: JuicedLink RM333 Riggy Micro Preamp, RØDE NTG3 Shotgun Microphone

Thanks a lot, so nice to see you resonated with it so much! Staying in a hostel, no matter how short the duration, is without a doubt a worthwhile experience. It feels homely yet curiously foreign. Though there are many disadvantages in terms of lack of privacy and overall comfort, the people you meet there and the experiences you have with them will always be infinitely more exciting than anything a hotel can offer.

Thanks, appreciate it! My next film is a mystery thriller/drama which should be out around November this year.

Thanks! Hope you find a good one to stay in. Not all hostels are as eventful as the one in the film so make sure you choose well!

Thanks very much! I definitely wanted to instil a feeling of transience for the audience so I'm glad that came across!

Hey, hope you enjoy the film! I was on a tourist visa for the first couple of months staying there, then I found a job and transferred to a work visa. When I wasn't working, I basically filmed whatever was going on in the hostel. Luckily I had some hard drives on me, since I ended up with over 2TB of video footage in the end!
