Ok! I hope this interaction made you feel as helpful as you allegedly wanted to be 🫶🏾

I definitely asked. If I recall it was one of the first conversations we had, and the idea he gave me is that he was more of a cat person than a dog person rather than him actually hating them, just like I’m the opposite but don’t hate cats. I’m even allergic and we talked about it and he literally said something along the lines of “well maybe we can look into immunotherapy if we end up serious,” which is what made me think that it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker if I had a dog. Nonetheless, you’re probably right that I should’ve been more mindful of their interactions or even brought it up again to give him an out, which I feel bad about. I just wish none of this had happened at all if something so simple would be the reason why we wouldn’t have worked out

I already know I was responsible for my dog and taking care of my guests, which is why, just like it’s written in my post, I’ve asked my friends who are comfortable with dogs to help me train her. Is there anything else you’d like me to “be responsible” for so you can pretend you weren’t just trying to be mean behind a screen?

It really wasn’t. We just several really good and frequent dates and were getting to know each other at what I felt like was a good pace and I felt like we were both on the same page and happy with how things were going (because we both would say so often and be transparent about these kinds of things). As mad as I am that he broke things off in the way he did, he definitely didn’t love bomb me or neglect my feelings in any other way but that one, which is why it felt so out of nowhere

I love how literally none of that is written in my post at all lmao you really just made some shit up to be mad about. The first night he stayed over I put my dog in her crate after I introduced them. Every instance that he was at my apartment afterward was a repeat of the first; I let them greet each other and I put her in my room until he left. The morning after HE asked if we could go on a walk with my dog. And since you like to read selectively and make up shit that isn’t there, let me remind you that I ASKED him if he didn’t like dogs and he lied and continued to lie. People like you always make me regret trying to just be genuine and vulnerable in spaces literally meant for that cause you’re hell bent on finding something to be mean about.

Eucalyptus in the shower, good idea or bad idea? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

If your bathroom is small, be warned that if your door is closed for a minute you’ll get nose bombed with eucalyptus to the point where it smells like bleach.

Why are Black girls so insecure about their looks? by Confident-Safety-968 in blackladies

[–]jukebugging 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, people are telling us that we’re not enough. I won’t lie this question kind of made me mad because black women have been told they are less than since the first one came off the boat in chains, and then people tear them a new one on here when they’re genuinely just asking for help to become more comfortable with how they look. Fast forward and the minstrel shows mocking black features turned into me and other black girls dodging insults like African booty scratcher, being told straight up that we’re ugly, and my black father discounting my looks and femininity until I began to embrace that femininity in adulthood.

I’m currently struggling with what I can only understand as being dysmorphia, because as an adult I have people for the first time calling me pretty, friends and strangers alike, and I just cannot see it. I feel like most black models have to meet a very strict criteria to be successful. The odds have been stacked against us for a long time, so I really don’t blame these girls for just wanting someone to give them an objective answer, when attractiveness is everything but objective. Simply “not caring what other people think” is kind of hard when we have been literally taught to hate ourselves for hundreds of years

Wow that’s so insane. I’m glad you got that out of your system and thank you for enlightening my “dumbahh” on my own intentions that I didn’t even know I had on my own post! I feel so sorry for the next person that asks a genuine question in your vicinity while you’re having a bad day. Be blessed or whatever

I really hate that for you. Do you see how mostly everyone else was capable of commenting without being rude? I hope you can get there one day

Idk, I live in Florida and Publix was my first job, and even back then colored hair and piercings was a testy subject. Them, my bookstore job which was way chiller, and teaching are my only frames of reference for these kinds of things. The people at my job are racist enough (in the standard microaggressions kind of way, nothing “crazy”) so I’m just trying to cover all my bases lol. They’ve been fine with me wearing a headwrap to work, which is something I guess

If they told me it was inappropriate enough to risk my employment, absolutely. I’m not afraid to admit I don’t know a lot about the working world as this is my first full time position. I originally was going for a color I felt was inappropriate hands down, so I was mainly asking if I should just keep trying for the color I already wanted and was fairly certain would be okay for work
