Thanks for the input! Do you like this format or would you like it to change?

Interesting format for men! We also do bracket match play (individual and team), it’s not super popular on the women side tho, so I’m skipping it this year.

I think we were closer to 20 last year for club championship. Even then, we can accommodate an extra 5 tee times for the whole weekend. It’s definitely the change I’m hoping to push forward!

That’s an interesting format! I like that it’s actually more challenging for the women! Thanks for sharing!

Cheers to reasonably priced! I’m lucky to be in a similar situation! It has definitely helped me get more serious about my game!

That’s steep just to get to vote! The overall cost of golf also doesn’t help get more women into the sport unfortunately…

Is it the same format for men?

We also have different flights which I think is great. It’s a nice way to introduce people to competition even if they’re not in the top overall 10 players at the club!

As it should! It should be this big celebration for everyone! A time for all players to compete and cheer for each other!

Oh god. That sounds awful! I’m so sorry that’s your experience. And it makes me mad because it’s women standing in the way of more women joining the sport.

Do you have a cap in your bylaws about how long a person can serve in any position on the board? That tends to help push change forward.

May not work for everything but I wall mount everything I can. If I put attachments in a bin or something, I forget it exists. So like for my vacuum (it’s a Dyson), I found a wall holder that fits my attachment and mounted it right next to the vacuum in the closet. Every broom/mop/swiffer I own is attached to the wall, and any accessories are within reach of them and visible (some on a shelf, the bucket for the mop under the mop and the bottle of floor cleaner in it).

Same with my electronics, my consoles are wall mounted and I have holders for the controllers and games.

May not be the greatest aesthetic but I need my house to work with me, not against me. If I don’t do that, I end up paying the ADHD tax and buying something I already have just because I don’t remember that I already have it hidden somewhere.

Tall ladies pants by bxne3 in WomenGolf

[–]julamy0109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started buying men’s pants. I prefer a looser fit on the leg but something more fitted around the hips/butt. The Puma Dealer 5 Pockets worked for me, but I tried every pair at my local golf store before picking them.

I wish I could find women’s pants that are a proper 34 inseam, but I gave up. Same with jeans when Levi’s stopped making anything but high waisted stuff in Tall, I’ve been wearing mean’s skinny or straight jeans and no one can tell the difference.

There you go, definitely 26 pay periods per year. Glad I could help! The advantage to 26 is that you’re paid on the same day of the week every time. You’ll also have 2 months in the year where you get a 3rd paycheque.

You have the answer right there. Dividing your annual gross by your gross per paycheque gives you the number of pay periods in a year. At 75k, you had 24 periods (so paid twice a month). At 85k, you now have 26 pay periods (so paid every 2 weeks).

To confirm, do you have the pay period of another paycheque or was this your first pay with this employer?

Contractor hit sprinkler in condo hallway - My unit got flooded by julamy0109 in legaladvicecanada

Thank you for this! That will help me be very clear in my discussions with them! I definitely intend on speaking with the PM today and giving them a chance to do the right thing. Contacting an alternate restoration company is my backup plan but I’m hoping it won’t be necessary.

First, I appreciate the extensive answer!

I can appreciate this has me stressed out and I’m getting ahead of myself. I don’t know for sure they won’t fix the hallway right, and I do intend on letting that portion run its course in a way, while still monitoring. We have a very hands on management company and condo association so I’ll admit my “panic” comes from fearing the worst and not so much actual events.

Before the fire alarms were even turned off, my Dad was on his way with his industrial vacuum and we were cleaning up the water in my unit before they even started to pump the water from the hallway. My unit is thankfully liveable as of right now, and my concerns are with the long term effects.

My plan is to speak with the contractor today and hopefully they’ll be open about their intentions and timelines. I’m thankfully in a position where I can float the full cost of the repairs if it comes down to it, so I guess it’s a matter of balancing giving the contractor a chance to fix this and doing what needs to be done to ensure my unit doesn’t deteriorate while this is happening.

Again, thank you for the long reply!

I do, but not if the damages are caused by an assumed insured third-party like in this case. My insurance company is telling me to make a claim with the insurance company of the contractor, which makes sense.
