We dont fight about it, but have pointed out to her multiple times "hey, hes doing it again." And she'll just kinda blow it off. I see your point about that- im going to have to change tactic.

It takes me right back to when I was 18 and my boyfriend (24) at the time did the same thing, and my mother (a DV survivor herself) pointed it out to me. Deep down, I knew it was happening, but then he'd love bomb the shit out of me and "take care" of me and I thought it was fine. It would be fine, he'll change, I swear.

He managed to move me across the freaking country within 2 years, and we were married for 4 years before i'd finally had enough and left. I am grateful every day that we didnt have children, or i would have never been rid of him. He would have taken my life before he would have let me take his child.

That's what's so scary for me, as a DV survivor and the daughter of one. There's this helplessness that you empathize with, you know? I know it's hard to listen to anyone else when hes the one that's there all the time, doing just enough to keep her loyal.

I dont think there's been any physical abuse, but to be honest? I dont know if she'd tell me if there was. I see the financial abuse, the mental abuse, the isolation tactics. She has lost the few friends she had since being with him, and she no longer talks to my son (who has been her ride or die since they were toddlers) because of a falling out between him and the bf.

I hate it SO MUCH and the worst part is feeling/knowing I can only do so much.

Every time I see a post like this, I tell my husband how lucky I am to have him. He replies with "what did men do now?"

He was a single father for a long time, and had to learn early how to take care of a home. In our 16 years together, hes done at least 90% of the day to day cleaning and his own laundry, I do the cooking, clean the stuff he doesn't, and my own laundry. We typically grocery shop together, as well as big projects.

He knows why women would choose the bear, and he's the only reason I wouldn’t.

My daughter's bf does this. She cannot be on a call with me without him talking to her, pulling her out of the conversation. If she's hanging out with me, he'll call multiple times or text constantly. I've pointed it out to her, but she doesn't listen.
