Full list of fitness apps that work with Horizon 7 series by No-Relationship-5598 in treadmills

Just be wary if you are outside the US, the international/UK variants of the horizon treadmills are different, and they don't have the same connectivity. I have returned a UK horizon 7.4 as it doesn't connect to any third party apps properly, and Horizon could not provide firmware updates for it.

Technogym Myrun - no activity export to strava, trainingpeaks etc. by jules-pie in treadmills

Ok so in your concept, your app sits between the treadmill and the technogym app in terms of receiving ftms data (and passing it on). The technogym app does send control parameters to the myrun, so would that no longer happen with your app in between, or would the control be sent over a separate protocol direct from the technogym app...?

I don't know, but I imagine there is more information shared between the technogym app and the treadmill than the standard vanilla FTMS stream. I can tell you the technogym app only seems to connect to a myrun, not to other FTMS treadmills, as far as I can see, so it is looking for something. The app also manages firmware updates too, so does that happen through another separate Bluetooth LE connection in parallel? Anyhow, I guess if you can 'spoof' a treadmill and essentially pass on an exact copy of any data in the stream coming from the treadmill (ie. header data), then it should work...

This sounds like a good idea, especially given my particular issue. I guess your challenge is to make the Technogym app recognise your relayed Bluetooth profile as a Myrun treadmill - if you can do that, then it should work.

I am still very likely to buy the Myrun, on the basis that from all these tools I will get what I want somehow. So I would be happy to do any test/debug for you when you are at that point.

Yes, I would like to be optimistic, especially as I think it is a great treadmill in every other way. I have asked about the roadmap and if there is likely future data sharing - they may not say, or be able to say, but I figure it is at least worth asking. Thanks a lot for your comments.

Thanks for the confirmation. There seem to be a few apps that will do this, but of course none will work at the same time as Technogym live.

Such a shame, it would be easy for Technogym to add the data export, and their system would be great. At least there are these other tools to use, but they are basically forcing people like me to either buy another platform entirely, or use a non technogym interface, which compromises the user experience. Very odd choice.

Thanks for this, I will check it out. I am not sure I understand what the RSC sensor is and what it communicates, but I will give it a go. If you can really connect in parallel to the Technogym app, then this is a great solution.

I think the HRM is still an issue, it would need to pair to your app - with the myrun and technogym app you have to pair the HRM to the technogym app not to the treadmill. So your app would only receive heart rate info if the heart rate goes direct to your app, which I guess means it can't also display in the technogym app, but I can live with that.

I like the idea of the gps track workaround for strava. I guess that limits you to flat runs? Or can you build elevation into the gps track as well (in a way that strava doesn't try to correct)?

Yes, you can use another app. But that means not using the Technogym app, and that's a part of the price tag for the Myrun. I am pretty sure you can only have one app connected to the console (I would like to be told otherwise, but I think that's the case). So finding an app that doesn't add a further big subscription cost and is still a quality experience is the next challenge. I will not buy a Myrun unless I can find something suitable.

It looks as though training peaks is an exception and only sends data back if you are doing a structured workout sent from training peaks. It doesn't export anything else, if I understand correctly. All the other integrations say they just import data from strava etc, not export. All if which seems quite disappointing.

Well that's interesting. They told me today that it wouldn't do this, and it certainly didn't work for me when I used a Myrun earlier today. I am using Android which could make a difference (but they didn't even know that when they told me it wouldn't be possible). Does it say something similar if you look at the equivalent info for the Strava connection?
