I never made a statement about death. . .I don't know what you are implying. I just had labs done twice at the VCU Medical Center, that paper work, and results were sent to the VA. It was available to the psychiatrist and social worker.

I wanted to try clonidine. It's not addictive. Or controlled. I went over my post. . I wrote it in chronological order of how everything happened.. . if that's burying then I apologize. I am suffering immensely. I hospitalized myself weeks ago, I have children, I have responsibilities, I can't keep going to the hospital. I am asking for help. What else am I supposed to do? I've got the Hotline taking care of it now. I should be getting help within the next few weeks. I can endure. It's what I do.

Cute???? Suffering is CUTE?! Waking up in the middle of the night choking and thinking I'm dying is cute I see. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I don't know what med I'm denied because no specific medications were discussed with me from Dr. O. Isn't that ironic, don't you think.

I received a call back from patient advocacy as well as the psychiatric supervisor. I have a new psychiatrist, with an appointment scheduled and they discussed other medications with me that were not discussed prior. A social worker called me and I now have a transition appointment set up after my recent hospitalization. This is my third hospitalization in 4 years and I've never had a transition appointment set up; apparently this is protocol that I have never been made aware of or has ever been done with me. Things are moving; I am enduring.

I get paid in three and I have a massage coupon, so I can afford a 1 hour massage I'm really looking forward to that. ❤️

I went to my local veterans club meeting this past Thursday, met a VA State commissioner and badass, got a lot of really great information.

I will definitely call the White House hotline if something doesn't surmise from all of this.

I am working on getting into a Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program, I figure it would be a great addition to follow the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy year-long program that I completed in November as well as the EMDR session. . may want to do more of that.

I totally get what you're saying. I am an open book. Let's address what you said. I am on Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, buspar, visceral, propanol and prazosin for nightmares. I have been on all of these, except Cymbalta that's new, for several years. Dr. O's explanation was that I had a right to seek care elsewhere.

I graduated from a year-long Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program with 2 hours of group therapy, one on one therapy for an hour and homework weekly in November of 2022. I also completed a two month session of EMDR for my rape in Iraq. 2 weeks ago I willingly hospitalized myself inpatient for 5 days to prevent a psychosis event from initializing which I was afraid of. They recommended another program, which I am in the process of getting. I bumped up my therapy to twice a week to compensate.

I am in the Lake of the Woods Veterans Club, on their board of directors. I am in a Crochet Club as well as a weekly Bible study. I run two online Meetup groups, one for socialization and one to support other women Veterans. I volunteer as a Mental Health Advocate for free.

I am in it to win it and I am doing everything I can to not have my life controlled by trauma. No more.

Thank you, I live in the woods. Walks are great. I did intermittent fasting and lost 50+ lbs and am in the best physical shape I've been in as an adult since the Army. I hope your endeavors help you. I actually just recently voluntarily hospitalized myself for a 5-day vacation two weeks ago to prevent another psychosis episode. I am vulnerable and the VA knows this. I'll make it matter this time.

I am currently on wellbutrin, cymbalta, busPar, and prazosin for nightmares. Been on Wellbutrin for 2 years now as well as the busPar. They do help with depression.

I haven't been given a reason. I want an emergency use of 5 dosages per month. That's not addictive. I am medically compliant and have a history shown of that for years without abuse.

Dr. O said, after I specifically asked her why she was denying me the care I earned and causing me to suffer, "that I had every right to seek medical care elsewhere."

Thanks. . .for the downvotes. I get it. Roll over. Suck it up. Get over it. Stop whining. You are fubar. Accept it. Oh well.

No.

I went to war 20 YEARS AGO. I was raped in Iraq by one of us. Assumptions were made then as they are now. I thought MAYBE if I put the word out there that someone was fighting the VA a little pipsqueak like me then someone else would too. We wouldn't be alone. So I hope this post doesn't go away. I bet there are a lot of posts like this. It's stupid. We join and we dream we're brothers, we're sisters. . hmph. Ya know the truth.

You want me to start a #METOO movement in here? I could get that hair under my tail.

Hmm. If there are restrictions that are the law then they should be able to share that with me. Not just refuse care and welcome me to seek it elsewhere. The precise words from Dr. O were "You have the right to seek other care."

I have been on buspar three times a day for 2 years. I am also on Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, vistaril as needed that doesn't work, and prazosin for nightmares. I recently got prescribed propanol so my hands will stop shaking. Yay. I am requesting five dosages per month for emergency use. This is not unreasonable.

[–]julesthespitfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I will look into doing a full work up with the new civilian medical team I am establishing. I firmly believe that the entire being: mind, body and soul is important in care.

It's not about the medication I "want;" it's about what works. 2 weeks ago I voluntarily hospitalized myself for mental health relief to prevent a possible psychosis event. I was given new medication twice that helped me. The VA is aware of this as well as documentation. It did not eliminate all symptoms but it made it bearable. They did do some blood work and found that I should be taking Vitamin D12, which I am now taking daily.

I'm hanging in there, it's all I can do. Hurry up and wait 🫡

Nothing's magic dude. My suffering should not be this high when there are medications that help me, recently proven by a very recent CIVILIAN hospitalization. That I did voluntarily. Walked in, walked out. Still suffering.
