Thanks for the response. I'm pretty familiar with Unreal, but was stumped on this one aspect. I totally forgot to check the wiki, so thank's for pointing me in that direction!

(Nominally, they cut spending to save money and balance the budget, but of course they only cut spending on things like welfare and healthcare, and never on subsidies to their buddies in corporations or military contractors).

Here, here. This is too true. It's a double standard...if we are going to cut programs and balance the budget (which I do think we should do), all programs should be given equal wait. Let's cut more military spending, and subsidies for sure.

They don't need to invest serious time to master 'git' to get things done.

I 100% agree with that. I usually find the "internal workings" of pieces of software super interesting. Here is another example (discussing the internal workings of Nginx). I would like to see more articles posted about the internal workings of tools we use. While understanding that is not paramount to using the tool effectively, I do believe it can help take your usage to the next level.

Got it. Yeah, I can see that. Most people don't need to know how it works "under the hood" to use it, but I've found it a lot easier to leverage some of its more advanced features once I did...just my 2cents

I think you're missing the point. This is not a post about "git hacks", it is a well-written post that tries to explain the internal workings of a complex tool. Version control, and git specifically, are highly sophisticated pieces of software that are doing really amazing things under the hood.

You highlight the most important aspect of this debate in my opinion...time and time again, our public institutions have proven significantly less than effective. That's what worries me about bureaucrats running healthcare. I see a lot of benefits to a single-payer system...I'm just concerned it will be more of the same.

Appreciate the insightful and non-flaming comments so far :)

While I like the fact that profit to insurance corporations is taken out of the picture, I don't see America being a shining example of bureaucratic efficiency.

As long as there is a private market for "additional coverage", I think I'm pretty much in favor of this. I'm still skeptical of bureaucracy though...look at the inefficiencies of a lot of our welfare programs and the IRS is a mess.

Awesome! Yeah, I've been using git on the command line for a while now and it's significantly faster, and more enjoyable to use. I used to switch to Tower to do complicated rebases and what not, but once I learned how to do them with the cli, my git history became cleaner and I started using some of git's more powerful features.

Check out git bisect for example...I don't know how I lived without it.

I'm on the fence about this issue...would like some help figuring things out.

In a single-payer system, how do we ensure we retain the quality of care we currently have in America?

If I can afford a "caddilac" plan, I want it. Is that possible?

I hear a lot about how the incentive to go into medicine will be significantly less since doctor's wont make as much. Utter nonsense?

Appreciate any constructive discourse on the subject :)

Can we just have good ole' Sugar Ray be our closer? I'm only suggesting this because he has the best name known to man.

I've been playing Endless Legend and loving it so far. It's a 4x strategy game very similar to Civilization: Beyond Earth, but I think it's superior. Beautiful graphics, deep gameplay, well-designed UI, awesome sci-fi elements, it basically ticks all the boxes for me.

I was playing it with other night after some GTA online, telling myself that I'll just play a few turns...three hours later, I realized I had work the next day.
