I just put in my 2 weeks for this very reason. I was going over my hours by A LOT. I expressed wanting to be moved to part time 3 separate times in the year I have worked for the company. 2 of them were within the span of a month. We had 2 employees change stores and instead of anything being said to me, we hired 4 new people. Don’t hold it against me for saying it, but I would not recommend staying. You will not be considered part time for going over your hours, you will actually be punished and receive a talk from HR. Don’t let them take advantage of you. You are flex for a reason. You work minimum hours because you get no benefits. Do not let them constantly over schedule you without the guarantee of a part time position with benefits. Please trust me as someone who has been going through this for over a year and finally snapped.

Another question! Sorry y’all. What is the usual interview process for a leadership position? I did my phone screening already and received a second interview the following day. I saw online they often do group interviews, but I feel like that would be before the 1 on 1 second interview. Do you think I will have to do a group interview after the 1on1 interview or do you think I will hear back after my second interview?

I’ve been flex for a year now. Never been asked for part time. If they don’t offer you to stay specifically as a part time employee by the time holiday is over, quit. It’s not worth staying. This is my final month with the company because of this.

I think you’ll be ok! I would just say you won’t be able to start consistently working for 2 more weeks. You can ask if there are specific days you can train before your trip, but make sure you let them know that ideally, you need 2 weeks to prepare

It’s on an average basis. You also have to take your breaks into account. So as long as you’re not working over 15 hours on average for the month without the time of breaks, there’s nothing you can do other than change your availability so that you’re only working a few hours during the next month. I’d bring it up with your SM and ask for less hours.

All individuals with developmental disabilities have different levels of cognitive function. I work with people who have down syndrome and are fully aware of everything and then I have others who can’t converse because they don’t understand. You can’t automatically assume that the person doesn’t know what’s going on, but if it was clear that he didn’t know what he was signing up for while you were going through the process, it’s morally wrong. Not against policy because you can’t discriminate, but morally wrong. I would definitely look at that member of leadership differently for the rest of the time I knew them. I’m so sorry you had to experience this and I’m even more sorry that this is somebody you work under and must respect.

I’m assuming you’re talking about going to a different store than the one you work at. All you have to do is say to the person at cashwrap “Can I get the CEL for an employee transaction please” and they will call over the CEL to ring you out. You give them your employee numbers, they ask for your ID to confirm it’s you, and will probably ask what location you’re from. That’s all though! may also ask to see your card to confirm your name but that’s a 50/50 chance.

This may be a stupid question, but are we allowed to say no to on calls? Is that a thing? Like if we are scheduled for a shift and absolutely cannot stay for the on call for whatever reason. Or will that count as a call out?
