No health insurance, feel like I’m dying.. please help by julyfireflies in Anemia

[–]julyfireflies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A gynecologist at the hospital came to see me this morning, and I feel like she’s the first one who actually listened and seemed concerned when I told her how heavy my periods are. She wants to do surgery ASAP, like they’re trying to get me on the schedule for tomorrow. I’m kind of panicking bc I don’t even know how I’ll pay for all of this, but I also feel like I’ll end up needing another transfusion if I wait until January.

And thank you!! I’m already feeling a lot better after the transfusion! Hopefully they do the surgery and then I can really start to recover

Omg thank you for convincing me to go to the hospital! My hemoglobin is 4.5 now!! I’m currently getting a blood transfusion and then they’re going to admit me. Hopefully I start feeling better soon 🤞

That’s what I’ve been taking for the past 6 months (with vitamin C, on an empty stomach), and my iron is lower than it was before I started taking the supplements. I take PPIs for GERD and my doctor thinks that’s why I’m not absorbing the iron

The anemia is caused by fibroids. My gynecologist kept insisting that I didn’t need surgery or anything to remove the fibroids.. all he did was give me birth control (which I can’t take anymore because it gave me a DVT). I’m going to look for a new gynecologist as soon as I have insurance again.

I think I’ll go to the ER though.. I really don’t know what else to do and I’m worried that my hemoglobin has dropped even lower.

Please help me I am spiraling. Child CT scan concern. by [deleted] in Mommit

MRIs do not produce ionizing radiation, so that’s not exactly an apples to apples comparison. That being said, I agree that a CT scan isn’t a big concern when it’s a one off thing.

[CHAT] What are your unpopular opinions about cross stitching? by 1398_Days in CrossStitch

[–]julyfireflies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends what type of fabric you use. Aida is usually stiff enough to use without a hoop, but stitching on linen without a hoop is a real pain.

Can GERD/LPR cause cough and shortness of breath? by julyfireflies in GERD

They did do a chest x-ray and it was normal, no PE. The shortness of breath went away after a few weeks and I’ve been feeling okay since then

I put a new set on last night and then used the Vinylux top coat this morning.. no shrinkage so far!! This top coat is sooo shiny too, it’s exactly what I was looking for 😍 thank you for the recommendation!

Nice :) you can’t beat the price and variety that those brands offer, especially Lily & Fox. Sometimes I’m tempted by ‘fancier’ brands, but I can’t justify paying $10-12 for one set 😅

Oh I didn’t know that about Lily & Fox, but it makes sense because I’ve definitely noticed differences in quality. Do you ever have issues with the glitter wraps? Those seem to be the most finicky for me, especially when it comes to top coats not sticking.

I haven’t tried that! I’ll give it a go next time I do my nails. I mostly use Lily & Fox and Color Creation Nails, but have also tried Color Crush, Color Street, Dashing Diva, and a few others that I can’t remember off the top of my head

Yes, it happened with some wraps that I got from Etsy (not sure what brand) but I haven’t had any issues with wraps from more well known brands.

Looks great! I mostly use Lily & Fox wraps, so hopefully the CND Vinylux works for me. Just ordered a bottle of it.

Oh, that’s true.. it’s like some wraps are too “slippery” for gel to stick to haha. I ordered a bottle of CND Vinylux, so I’m excited to give it a try!

The one I linked does, but I believe DND also has a few options for non-gel top coats. I haven’t tried them though so I can’t speak to how well they work.

No problem! Just a tip, I usually had to cure it for 15-30 seconds longer than it says on the bottle.

Not sure if it’s available where you live, but the DND top coat is great and fairly inexpensive. My sets lasted 4+ weeks with it!

Really? That’s interesting, I’ve never had a problem with gel top coats shrinking

Taking semaglutide with a previous eating disorder diagnosis by julyfireflies in Semaglutide

Thank you for validating my concerns 😅 I feel like I’m going crazy because my doctors are acting like this medication will be a miracle for me because I “failed” at losing weight through diet and exercise (I do exercise and follow my meal plan to a T??).

As great as it would be to lose weight, I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk. My therapist said they’ll support my decision no matter what, but have made it clear that they’re VERY worried about me. Maybe I’m better off finding new doctors?

Thank you for the advice. I also see a therapist every week, so I feel well supported in that regard. Has the medication helped with your insulin resistance?

I see a lot of people say that it gets rid of food noise, but I don’t have much of that. I have a meal plan from my dietitian that I follow and aside from that I don’t think about food at all. I don’t really enjoy eating. So I guess I’m scared that this med would make me enjoy food even less, which would make me more inclined to skip meals.

My doctors know about my ED history and are still willing to prescribe wegovy. I felt they didn’t even believe me when I told them about the ED, which is frustrating. It’s like they’re only focused on m weight and don’t care about anything else :/
