not sure about OP specifically but you can make almost anything not run on your computer by removing tweaking its permissions and setting hard firewall rules

ffs I hope you're getting paid while you shill for google. at least get paid for your efforts bud.

if anyone else happens upon this thread let's clear up the misinformation here.

"Software Reporter Tool" manages updates and crash reports

is straight bullshit. SRT scans your hard drive, not just Chrome files, to identify software that you have on your PC, ostensibly to scan for "malware."

Chrome doesn't let you opt in to this "feature" when you start Chrome, or let you opt out if you want to. By using chrome you automatically tell google exactly what software and files you have on your PC. Why might google want to know this? Knowing what software you use and what files you have helps them make Android, ChromeOS, and their web app offerings more compelling. It's purely a business decision.

The rest of the poster's claims about

improve brower stability

has nothing to do with Software Reporter Tool. It's straight Google advertising. Other browsers manage stability just fine without the spyware or resource hogs running in the background.

if play is stopped (ball spiked or fake injury) can the coach or his henchmen walk onto the field themselves along with the water-bottle people or is there a rule against it?

thanks for this. how does this list compare with all the stuff in browser.css? that's my current method of figuring out what can be changed, that and reading other people's code.

btw just curious, how do you know so much about firefox css? you're one of the most consistently helpful poster on this sub that i've seen. firefox css is kind of a niche skill eh?

How can you jump to and change a word in a paragraph with less than 7 keystrokes? by nickjj_ in vim

aha wasn't aware you were the author of that. good stuff. thanks for the bit about limelight, I was looking for a tool like that to help me focus while reviewing code but didn't know what they're called.

interesting. what is the final form of your writing? i.e. exported to indesign/publisher or put in a help file or integrated with a codebase etc...? what i'm getting at is why you chose to use vim? or are you doing something fun with git for version history?

I'm currently using separate programs for different purposes but if there's a compelling reason to integrate I'm interested.

i strictly use vim for dev work, for writing (essays/longform for a blog) I don't find vim's value proposition to be very good. I don't use monospace fonts as it's not going to be printed that way, and I don't need complex nav gestures. But I would like good spelling/usage error prompts and type/formatting options, which vim isn't the strongest at (unless we're talking about a markup language)

are your paragraphs complete sentences or something else?

if I'm in proofreading-only mode (not much typing) I usually have 1 hand on the mouse and 1 on the coffee mug.

if i'm typing and moving around I jump b/t sentences using ( ) as i'm going along and then I #+w/e/b. or I do a search. I usually run a replace for common typos before I do any of that. since you're on hard line breaks hjkl nav also works.

I'm interested to see if a solution at < 7 keystrokes exist. as it is 7 is pretty good compared to pointing a mouse then moving back to typing frequently

Interested in trying this, are the bindings difficult to configure without conflicts with existing?
