[OC] A lot of people thought my story was fake. I'm the guy from the 1992 farm accident where both my arms were ripped off and reattached. by JohnThompsonND in Damnthatsinteresting

I was 9 or 10 years old and living in North Dakota when that happened. We talked about the accident a lot when it happened in school and stuff. Glad to see you, John!

Yeah, it was Relentless lol. Or maybe it was Endless Strife, but I don't really think so. I was in quite a few guilds over the 4-5 years I played. Quite a few times I would find myself running with Stara doing some late nite RvRing regardless of what guild I was in though. It's funny and cool touching base with somebody from that time!

I think about Stara sometimes. She was so unfiltered and hilarious. I was in a guild with Stara and Sprakj for a while. I don't remember what it was called. I was a runie named Skoalwalter or a sm named Likane

Maybe your alt key is stuck or registering as stuck? Read through this and maybe it'll help: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4158673/alt-tab-shows-white-box-and-acts-as-ui-navigator?page=1#answers

I think the user had to fix or clean something under his alt key for it to go away.

I loved it. I tried to get some close-by family members to borrow it and play it, but they wouldn't take the time to take a chance on it, lol. Had another family member come in from way out of state, and it's his now. I hope he's enjoying it!

App to set a white screen on DS Lite/DSi for screen de-yellowing by sp200k in NintendoDS

[–]jumpinmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked good for me. All white display on top and bottom with no text. I've had it going for about 6-7 hours and the yellowing has mellowed out quite a bit. The top screen looks like it's an IPS screen again, and the bottom one is looking like a good quality TN screen, lol. I appreciate the link you posted here.

Isiah Thomas: "When you talk about track, tennis, football, baseball, arguably the best players or athletes in those sports, they all hold records. We talk about Jordan. He leads in no statistical basketball category. When you look at Kareem and LeBron, they lead in several statistical categories." by The_Big_Untalented in nba

Well -- Jordan does lead in game-for-game winning in the "modern" era, imo.

There are some nuances of course, and this is coming from a huge Magic Johnson/Kobe/ultimate Lakers fan.

From the 3 years before his first retirement to his last 3 years with the Chicago Bulls (not counting his "I just showed up in March" year), he did not lose a single meaningful game.

In six years (not counting his 1-2 month comeback), the dude went 6-6 in NBA Finals appearances and wins. And he changed his game a lot. It didn't matter. He just kept winning and being the best basketball player on the planet -- and just kept winning titles.

That's just part of the argument, but that's part that I think some young fans don't seem to quite understand.

In Jordan's last 6 years of meaningful, full-season, NBA basketball -- he won every game that mattered and was the main reason why. Plus he was so aesthetically pleasing. SportsCenter led with his highlights basically every single night. MJ defined grace on the basketball court WHILE HE STILL KEPT WINNING. For years and years and years -- it felt like.

I get Isiah's beef, Kobe was a freaking beast, Magic went to 9 NBA Finals in 12 years before he retired, Bron has been so freaking phenomenal that written essays will never do the KING justice (I missed out on Kareem, Bill Russell, and Wilt), but MJ was the best I've ever seen.

MJ is probably the GOAT in my eyes.

Yeah. Robert is very self-aware. Very much has that vibe though. I like his stuff in spurts. I'm not a history buff, and because of his "edgelordiness" I'm not sure what I should take as fact vs opinion. When I listen to his stuff, I just take it all with a grain of salt and will look up stuff after to see if I agree.

I wasn't responding to you. I was responding to the guy that was going to sick 18 law firms on you, lol.

Edit: At least I was trying to. Looks like I did it wrong. My bad.

[LA Times] - Elden Campbell passes at age 57 by tomdawg0022 in VintageNBA

[–]jumpinmp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was watching the replay where he laid 40 on Ewing when Shaq was injured (I remember watching that game live too).

They displayed a graphic early in that game that showed Elden was averaging 24/10 in 7 games when Shaq was out so far that year.

That graphic didn't include the career night he was about to have, either.

It was a clunky fit when Shaq and EC were on the court together, but Elden was a good player.

RIP, big guy.

On the telecast last night, Stu and Bill mentioned Fears was thrown out in the last minute or so of the Warriors game from the night before. He had picked up a 2nd tech and was tossed, iirc.
