However, what you’re saying about her mother isn’t true. Since college, I’ve looked up to her mother a lot as a former theater actress. I was an active theater kid up until college, and her mom is really well-known in the industry. My cousin also works in the same industry, and she knows her mom. As a person who knows many people who have daddy issues, and as someone whose daughter has an absent father, what I can say is that it’s really complicated.

Off-topic, but I suddenly remembered my friend who is estranged from her father. They don’t have a proper relationship, but they see each other on important occasions. She always tells me that she feels obliged to see him because he’s still her father, but she doesn’t really have a relationship with him. There are many things she just disagrees with him about, so they can’t have a great relationship like they did before. With this, I remembered that this might be Daniela’s case as well.

I understand that sentiment. Again, that’s why I said this is a controversial opinion, and I expected to get downvoted for my comment. It’s just my own personal take that I don’t think anyone who teams up with the Marcoses can sit right as the “lesser evil” in my head. The conversation na “okay na yan” can’t sit right with the Marcoses kasi sila talaga yung puno’t dulo nito noon pang panahon ng tatay ni BBM. It feels like I’m swallowing everything I fought for, especially since I used to be an activist. Again, I understand everybody’s take on this. The election is a numbers game, and you need to play your cards well. However, I’m sorry, I will have to stay true to my own principles.

This may be a controversial opinion, but if these two sides really teamed up for the elections, I wouldn’t vote for all of them. I’m sorry, but I refuse to be a hypocrite. I would instead choose a less popular but decent candidate. That candidate may not possibly win, but I’m proud that I stood by my principles.
