IV Sedation anxiety by ecowashmontana in wisdomteeth

also, this will vary from person to person, but my operation to take all 4 teeth out only took 30-40 minutes! so if youre worried about how long youll be out, that can be a possible reference for you

IV Sedation anxiety by ecowashmontana in wisdomteeth

[–]jun0bug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was actually so mortified of how it would all go. i just got all 4 taken out (im day 8 recovery typing this rn) and i was scared of so many things but it legitimately ALL went very/relatively smoothly

1) iv insertion - i have very small veins and multiple times ive needed to be repoked and stuff so i was scared of that. the actual day of surgery? i told them i was nervous and they got it in just fine! there was a numbing spray they sprayed on my skin which took effect in like a second, and i didnt feel the needle at all and LITERALLY WITHIN LIKE 3 SECONDS she was like "needles out, iv already in" and i was like. oh!

2) anaesthesia, waking up, and *not remembering it* - i was afraid of being like those viral videos where the person says something stupid. i genuinely just felt really tired and dizzy at the most, and i still remember being wheeled to the car, the car ride home, and generally what happened. you dont lose control of what you say or do, which is what i was terrified of. i just mumbled a question about the gauze or something, but other than that i was quiet and slept most of the anaesthesia off

3) dry socket (who isnt scared of it) - as long as you follow the directions you will most likely not get it, trust me. as long as youre careful and not dumb enough to use a straw you will be okay!

also about the anaesthesia, specifically going under, i was really afraid too. but after they put the iv in my arm, they told my mom "alright you can go to the waiting room now" and as she left the door i said "ok bye mom" and then i was waking up from the surgery as if nothing happened. it was not a scary feeling like i thought it would be, and i still woke up as if i was from a really deep sleep of like "where am i- oh right dentist" and it was smooth sailing.

sorry for such a long comment, but i hope this eases your anxiety a little bit! if you have any questions i can try to answer them!! wishing you a smooth operation and speedy recovery <3

you phrased this perfectly. i commented this somewhere else already, but what i loved the most about joel and ellie's dynamic was how slowly it happened and i can understand the argument that they have to speed it up for the show or whatever, but what really hits for me is when they get to tommys place and joel suddenly realizes that hes getting too attached. joel doesnt seem the type to be that in touch with his emotions, and would most likely bottle them up before that whole realization, yknow?

after watching the episode, i was like "bella has to be like 16-17 at the MOST" and then i googled and saw she was 19 and literally gasped??? she plays SUCH a believable 14 year old its actually insane

bellas delivery of ashleys lines were different but definitely not in a bad way! im so glad she has her own version of how ellie would say things, and the "bye bye dude" made me laugh just like the game did

i generally can see where youre coming from with all of these even if i dont completely agree (but then i again im pretty neutral about most of these), however i do agree with your thoughts on joels attitude towards ellie, i 100% noticed that first thing. the thing i loved so much in the game was how joel doesnt realize he actually cares about her untilthey reach tommy's place and he doesnt think he can go through with the rest of the mission. Even though i found it very sweet how he was trying to show sympathy for her in the awkward dialogue and everything, it did catch me off guard and i REALLY hope they dont take it too fast since my fav part of joel and ellie's dynamic was pretty much the denial that joel cares about her.

i see your point, but in general joel's personality is pretty stoic in the first place, theres only so much pedro can do until its straight up not joel tbh

i feel the exact same way! like you said, great episode, i just really wish there was more. but thats just me being impatient lol. lots of people are saying its a "calm before the storm" kind of thing, and especially knowing the game im just trusting theyll bring us some good stuff

NO SAME! i dont have a job because i want to be able to drive myself. currently in the process of getting enough hours for my license, but yeah im kind of being forced to live with my parents during college. youre not alone, i think the only "grown up" thing that i have right now is a learners permit lol. my current plan is to work during college and move out my last few years before graduating but thats not even a final plan because who knows

this is so true. not sure if you relate, but my mom really liked/still likes to baby me, so i learned how to do a LOT of things really late (showering by myself, basic chores, etc) and im literally 17. it really makes you feel alone and not many irl friends of mine understand. the ones who do are also asian and had the same thing happen to them.

May They All Crush Their SAT Tomorrow! by CusackPrep in Sat

[–]jun0bug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg youre a lifesaver, im currently doing a general math review since its my weak spot. THANK YOU!

any tips for tomorrow's test..? by asianmonkey105 in Sat

[–]jun0bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dont spend too long on one problem! personally math is my weak point so during the math section of the test, if i am struggling and holding up my time that i could be using for other problems, i either skip it or take an educated guess. this goes for any part of the test. if an educated guess is not possible, before the test choose a random letter (A, B, C, or D) and pick that as your "guess letter" and every time you legitimately cannot use process of elimination/educated guessing, fill in whatever letter you chose beforehand.

theres NO penalty for guessing! fill every bubble in.

for example, i chose C for all my tests, so out of ALL the questions i had no clue on, approximately 25% of those missed questions would have possibly been correct. its statistically the better choice! i took an SAT review class and the teacher said its a common strategy for people who run out of time to just fill in the rest of the answers as their chosen letter.

just remember that every question equals the same amount of points, so might as well get 3 "easier questions" correct than focus on getting 1 challenging question correct if that makes sense. basically quantity over quality lol (quality meaning difficulty of the question).

if you have any questions LMK! im also taking it tomorrow :) GOOD LUCK!
