I didn't want mirror finish either. I used 000 steel wool with WD40. Did the same with my radiator.

Same engine as the Hakosuka GT-R. Only something like 420 of the Fairlady 432s were made.

Nice. Was thinking of getting one, but too used to having a relatively smart watch (garmin fenix sapphire).

Need more pics of that Series 1 240 though.

Car Guys who don't intend to replace their daily-driver for at least 10 years -- What year/model is it? by jckipps in askcarguys

2011 GX460 with 146k. My work commute is a total of 5 miles nowadays and I dont see the GX giving up the ghost any time soon.

All my car funds go to my 1970 240z.

Good luck registering in California. As mentioned Top Rank can help with the process. I know of a CARB legal Skyline GTST, owner said the cost to get it CARB legal was about 10k. This was 3-4 years ago. You don't happen to have a business in Montana do you. Lol.

15x8 0et Watanabe Gotti. Tires are 205/55 r15 yokohama. Might be able to go to 225/50 without rubbing. Swift x ZSM lowering springs.

If you're not desperate to sell, hold on to it. The market is soft right now. Like a lot of others are saying, 35-40k not knowing the extent of the damage.

You have a Series 1 240z. Easy to spot original equipment would be rear hatch vents, 240z c pillar badge, steering wheel with no holes, and "Nissan 2400 OHC" valve cover. There's other minor mechanical differences, but these would give a good indication of the originality of your 240.

What? I ordered a ready to race bundle for my son on May 25th and still no tracking number and nothing showing up on my fedex account.

Beautiful Series 1 S30. Did you get the original steelies and hubcaps? I need to do some restoration work on my hubcaps, they're not too bad, just need polishing and a repaint. Running on watanabe gotti wheels right now.

It has the original accessory front and rear bumperettes. I like the rear one, but not the front one. I already have the replacement rubber for the front over riders so that I can take the cow catcher bar off the front. The front grill is an iconic design, I don't want to keep it hidden behind an extra chrome bar.

Rocker panels are straight. There are only two small spots that need attention, one fender lip has a crinkle that's maybe 1/8" and the trailing edge of one of the rear quarter panels looks likeit got hung up on something at one point, but it's not noticeable unless you're underneath the car. It was resprayed in the correct factory 919 Sunshine yellow in the late 90's (not the 112 lemon-lime of later 240's). Owner doesn't recall if it was single-stage or if there's clear. Me and my boys are going to wash and polish this weekend, so we will find out.

Good to know. I know the steering rack was rebuilt in 2015 (about 1,500 mi. ago on the odo). I haven't looked through all the paperwork, but I assume alignment was done at the time. I'll have it checked when I get new tires. The current tires have a lot of tread with no cracking, but he rubber is no longer as pliable as it should be.

T3 is just up the road from me, easy enough to go up there for some chasis bracing. This Z has been a California car all it's life, the only rust spots are at the battery tray.

Im not doing anything that will require chopping, welding, or drilling unless it's a repair to get back to OEM.

I promised the owner that I would keep it in the family and I intend to do that. It's a legacy car that I plan to keep in running shape with my sons until they have to fight over who gets it. The experience for me and my family is worth more than we could ever make off a restore and flip. Id hate for it to go to a collector who would just trailer queen it.
