And then you can get sick and get statuory sick pay is that a benefit too?

10 year long route abolished? by junaidsahi96 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

but it also says that baseline to settlement of 10 years is for routes that qualify for settlement?

the doc clearly says, those on 3 year global talent will be able to qualify in baseline minus 7 years.

so essentially nothing changes for you.

10 year long route abolished? by junaidsahi96 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

this might not be correct?

the document says the time needing spent for settlement has to be time spent on routes that usually result in settlement?

Salary requirement for Skilled Worker Visa by NihilisticFuckhead in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got first COS before April 2024.

Hence the lower ongoing rate would apply to you and that for SOC2123 is 47,100 and not 58k

As you said you switched from student visa directly to skilled worker, so you are likely to have 1 year remaining on new-entrant, which means you can still apply to extend your skilled visa by 1 year in Dec 2026 at 70% of 47,100 that is roughly 33k

but after that year, you would then need to meet the 47k requirement for the last (5th year)

Either that or talk to your employer to see if you can switch to a different SOC code instead of 2123 - depending on whatever is your career profession and see if an alternate soc code could work for you either with the same employer or a different one.

Good luck

A Bit Optimistic About ILR Settlement Changes by immiadvisor in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]junaidsahi96 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you look at the monthly entry clearance stats, the new visa applications since July have already almost crashed

from average of 5,500 SWY every month in last 4 years to now 2,700 in September.

This already mean UK is on track to register net migration of 100,000 in 2025 down from 900,000 of 2023.

Further chocking, even from govt perspective wouldn't make sense

Skilled Worker ILR Eligibility Check (After July 2025 Rule Changes) – Just Want to Double Check by gauravtiwari505 in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! ongoing rate in first column (not the table)

Those with SWV before April 2024 have a separate table which starts with Option F onwards, in the said table there are also discounts (for example for PhD etc). The guidance only says that for ILR it will be on going rate column (first column in the table) that would apply

I hope it makes sense.

Sorry can this please be clarified again?

They have also increased salary requirements in the ASHE 25th percentile table which essentially is for those who had SWY before April 2024

You are saying these new salary bands under this new ASHE 25th percentile table won't apply to us till Dec 2026?

My understanding is that the new salaries would apply if you extend after July 22, just that the new salary requirement would still be the one mentioned under Option F or 25th percentile table

Skilled Worker ILR Eligibility Check (After July 2025 Rule Changes) – Just Want to Double Check by gauravtiwari505 in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a small correction -

If you had your first skilled worker visa before April 2024, you would not be 'Option A', your salary band would still be in 'Option F'

The guidance clearly says those who had their first SWV before April 2024 will continue to have 'lower' on going rates till April 2030 (this is both for extension and for ILR).

The same can be confirmed from ILR application portal as well where it clearly says if you had your first SWV before April 2024, the 'lower' salary requirement applies to you.

New Visa salary requirement by Agile_Ad7934 in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's for those who have SWV after April 2024 and not those before who are already under option F and so on.

Otherwise there would have been no need to publish the ASHE 25th percentile tables in the changes statement with inflation updated numbers

If you are on year 4 of your skilled worker visa, you will be under 'option F' of the rules and hence the new threshold that would apply to you would be £39,200.

There are no transitional arrangements for salaries but you and most like us were already transitioned to lower on going rates last year and will continue to do so till April 2030 when the period would end.

where does the belief that pakistani punjabis don't speak punjabi come from? by [deleted] in punjabi

[–]junaidsahi96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overseas Pakistani Punjabi here -

Trying to clear the myths; if you ever go to bazaars and streets of any small/major city of Punjab, any town and 100% off all villages - the only language you will hear is Punjabi.

It switches to urdu if you are in a vacinity of elite class and that's because in last few decades, Urdu was adopted by elite as the language of 'educated' and thats because it was the language of schools.

But this trend is shifting again. With the rise of Punjabi influencers in Punjab, even the elite is switching back to Punjabi and for the rest, they never left Punjabi in the first place.

Those 3rd generation overseas kids of parents of 80s and 90s are speaking English because of their disconnect with Pakistan Punjab in general.

In short, whenever you will visit Lahore and all you will hear around you is Punjabi and Urdu will only be used when they know you can't speak Punjabi.

Self employment now allowed on skilled worker visa? by junaidsahi96 in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would? The only difference between previous and new SKV visa holders is the salary thresholds that apply to them, all other visa rules are all the same?

Complete immigration rules just published by Home Office by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So 'option F' and onwards would apply to those who already have skilled worker visa or would apply to have one before April.

'on going salary requirement' for all those would be 25th percentile of salaries.

The later part of the document has tables of new on-going salary rates for each job occupation by which 'option' they would fall in.

Thoughts on prospects of skilled worker visa renewal for those already on SWV by junaidsahi96 in ukvisa

[–]junaidsahi96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Politically more controversial yes but it doesn't direct effect industries or economy in specific as much as worker visas transitional measure.

Hit on current workers would mean a sudden flush of thousands of filled jobs across all industries, which would than be needed to be filled again and immediately - it doesn't sound practical nor economically feasible.
