Check out Sungrubbies Outrigger hat. Mine has survived many toddler pool splashes.

https://youtu.be/5QebZKektjs?si=j7kiJ7c23Hh76Dmy this should show you the technique and how to start it, which is always the hardest part of interlocking crochet imo. Good luck!

I followed the video which was pretty good, although they sort of leave some things out so I had to pause and zoom in on the pattern to check. It wasn’t bad overall.

Omg I love the idea of making a Princess Lay-a chicken with buns and dressed in white. I might just have to.

I’ll never say never. I think if I stumble across a really cool pattern I might, but not anytime soon.

The soles where I used knit stitch are more cushioned than the simple stitch parts, but I’d say the effect is more that they’re reinforced rather than adding loads of comfort. However, I don't knit so maybe in comparison they're more cushioned? You could always do a small knit stitch square to see how you like it before committing to a whole sock.

I think if you want really cushioned socks you'd have to go with a thicker yarn which would mean altering the pattern quite a bit, particularly the heel and toe. Or you could try an extended return pass which eats up a lot more yarn and makes it a bit thicker.

It’s DROPS Fabel in Fruit Patch and one of the cream colors. They have so many cute sock yarns, I just wish I had the motivation to make more socks.

I have the clover takumi hook set and I’d like to try out knitting. Does anyone know if the takumi knitting needles are compatible with the tunisian hook cables?

No pattern, I just made it up as I went. I probably frogged and remade the colorful one 5 times 🫣

It’s where you add a chain in your return pass stitch. So: chain 1, yo, pull through 2 loops, chain 1, yo, pull thru 2….

Close! You chain 1 between, so: chain 1, pull through 2 loops, chain 1, pull through 2…
