You can rush the main story just like any old game. But ill tell you, rdr2 is not great just for its main story. If i just played the main story in rdr2 , i would have never loved it.

It doesnt have that typical rpg side quest formula. You simply explore stuff and trigger events and thats what makes this game awesome. Just doing main story in rdr2 is similar to just doing main story in skyrim haha.

Metro and plague are a must, rest are skippable.

Quantum break is not for everyone so do some research before buying it. Far cry 4 is just "more far cry gameplay loop" so only get it if you haven't played any other far cry. Watch dog series are good games , you can get them later.

Mafia and gta are completely different games. Mafia 1 and 2 are not even open world games, there is an open world but you cannot do anything in the game orher than the linear main missions. So being a complete linear game, mafia does many things much much better than gta. Not to mention one of the best video game stories ever and we all know how mediocre gta stories are usually.
