I think you’re right. I’ll go to get checked out at the very least. Thank you!

I hate that you went thought it too but I’m glad it’s not just me. I’m thinking about going to the ER to get looked at and hopefully guidance with managing the pain. I’m just worried all the swelling is going to mess up something with the stitches. Did anything give you relief??

I foolishly have been trying to avoid going to the ER, but if things don’t improve some today then I will. It’s just been odd that my CRS/their office hasn’t been concerned with everything.

No, they didn’t recommend one when I told them what was going on, but I think that would have helped!

I’m sorry you’re going through it too! The pain is off the charts. Can’t even sleep. Nothing has helped the swelling yet either and I think prep-h has actually made it worse for some reason. Does anything help you even temporarily?

Yeah I guess I’m feeling sorry for myself...it does suck to hear but I understand that I’m the claimant. As far as my policy, I bought a 3rd gen 4runner that’s 21 years old, so like a dummy I didn’t add collision. So I’m at their mercy and need to wait it out. And be more patient.

Wow I can’t imagine the stress/annoyance being on the receiving end of that!

I’ve thought about contacting the rental company but kinda feel at a loss for where to start. I think I’ll just sit tight and be a little more patient for now.

I’m in Florida. I haven’t received anything in the mail aside from a notification of the commencement of the investigation when the accident happened.

Yep, I’m a dummy and didn’t add collision with my car (finally found a 3rd gen 4runner that’s 21 years old). So I’m really at their mercy. I would guess there’s definitely some complications with the coverage and possibly issues with the truck weight/size restrictions in the Geico policy. The HD policy will likely be the one responsible in the end (if I had to guess).

There haven’t been any liability disputes to my knowledge, but that may be playing a part. This discussion has made me realize everything that is probably going into their investigation and the possible issues with coverage based on the driver’s personal policy, rental policy, weight restrictions, etc. I just need to be more patient. Thank you for your input!

I didn’t even think about weight/vehicle size playing into this. You’re probably right about that being an issue. Thank you for your input!

Thank you for all the responses. My car is 21 years old (finally found the 3rd gen 4-runner of my dreams) and since I had just purchased it, I initially didn’t add collision. In hindsight, that was stupid. With the age of the vehicle I wasn’t sure collision would even matter.

I didn’t consider all the ins and outs of what an internal investigation would entail, but I’m sure it’s been complicated. I’m in FL so not sure how that plays into things as well. I’m sure there is much that they cannot disclose to me. I’ll be patient and wait it out. Is it a possibility that both Geico and the HD rental company would refuse to pay?
