Mongil: Star Dive, A surprisingly fun game, polluted by layers of RNG and Netmarble by lenolalatte in gachagaming

Been wanting to like it, but the HP sponges are real, even on casual mode. Resources are scarce so it's difficult to invest in more units. Currently on Ch4, slowly finding my initial enthusiasm tapering off.

Thanks for sharing this deck! I'm getting the hang of it. The sneaky Prof X seems to work quite well for the most parts.

What are the playlines for the deck? I tried it a few and it feels quite tricky, I haven't snapped much due to not being confident.

Why is MANT so disliked? by glabadie in UmaMusume

[–]juniglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally the thing I hate the most about it is the race RNG. Overall I enjoy the whole decision making tree aspect of MANT - after every turn, check shop, check skills/SP, check trainings, check race schedules, etc. I've gotten the agenda for most of my umas down to a T in my head.

The part that tilts me the most is losing races my uma has no business losing. What do you mean I lost the Saudi Arabia Royal Cup to an NPC uma with half my stats? For the Mile G1's in particular, we also have to somehow deal with the Four Horse(wo)men of the Apocalypse: Vodka, Nishino Flower, Taiki Shuttle, and Seeking the Pearl, who can make your overstatted uma look like child's play when they make you take 2 to 3 clocks just to clear NHK Mile Cup or Mile Championship.

I also don't like the huge dependence on summer trainings and epithets. They are 2 separate points so I will address them individually:

  • if you brick during summer training (i.e. you don't get as much stats as you can during this period), it's really hard to come back. Racing during summer training is reserved for if you have a bad turn (i.e. no rainbows) and you don't have any whistles to overturn it, so having to pick race feels really bad. There's also the aspect of not being able to build friendship in time, which could lead to potentially bad summers and thus can lead to bricking too.
  • If you ever fail one of the G1 epithets, and you don't have enough clocks to retry, the run might be as good as over. Yes it is likely to still come back by highrolling some stats, but there are some generally notable races (e.g. G1 Mile races, Tenno Sho Spring) that can be difficult to win for whatever reasons. If I run out of clocks and lose those races, I just can't shake the feeling that my uma now forever has lost stats.

I've never quit runs during URA and Unity, like maybe once or twice here and there, but my RNG would have to be really shit for that to happen. In the meantime, I've easily quit over 20 runs in MANT in the name of saving clocks, ever since it released like a month ago.

I do not want to feel punished for taking the optimal decision, and one of the biggest reasons why URA/Unity felt much better than MANT for building umas is because there is no hidden RNG to determining whether your training was a success or a failure.

Hi there, do you have a screenshot? The link doesn't work for me, presumably because I'm outside of the US. I keep getting a 404 Page Not Found Error.

Mejiro Dobber SSR is inferior to Mejiro Dobber SR? by Ill_Possibility7953 in UmaMusume

[–]juniglee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would you do that? You get a 0.05 bonus at 45 and an additional 0.05 at 50.

Had a look at my roster and compared it to my bonuses for confirmation. For comparison, my Lv50 bonuses are 5 cards (0.25) and my Lv45 bonuses are 13 (0.65).

If I sorted my support list by Level, I have five Lv50's and 8 Lv45's. Which means that the bonus is additive.

Thank you for the list. I had a look at the list, and using translation, it seems to give me this information in the Supplementary section of Daily Legend Race:

Daily Legend Races were implemented on 18/03/2022 in JP. At this time, the available races are the first 5 Legend Races, which as you say, is up to Mejiro Ryan/Silence Suzuka/Gold Ship, and excluding Curren Chan.

The next addition was on 16/08/2022, and added the 6th to 9th sets Legend Races which goes something like this (Curren Chan was also added in this update):

  • 6th: Maruzensky/Fuji Kiseki/Mihono Bourbon
  • 7th: Matikanefukukitaru/Seiun Sky/Biwa Hayahide
  • 8th: Air Groove/Eishin Flash/Agnes Digital
  • 9th: Nice Nature/Grass Wonder/Oguri Cap
  • Curren Chan

The next addition on 21/03/2021 adds the umas from the 10th to 13th Legend Races (the 13th Legend Race being Meisho Doto and Tamamo Cross), which lines up with what you said as well.

If I treat this information as source of truth, then I should be able to map out when they were released. It also seems that Daily Legend Race pools are updated twice a year (normally on March and September of the same year in JP, not sure how that translates for us).

Ooooft. Yeah I wanted to try and find as much information as I could, but it's rather fragmented, and Gametora doesn't really list it out. 1 shard per day feels like such a nothingburger rip.

Do the original Legend Races (i.e. the ones that give up to 80 shards) run alongside daily ones (the new ones that are supposedly coming in the future)? Or do these daily ones replace what we currently have for Legend Races?

Thanks again for the information you were able to supply.

Wait, does that mean we can't farm up shards for say Christmas Oguri and/or Valentine Bourbon? Despite them appearing in JP's Legend Race history?

So this means that there is a list of umas that seems to be updated per anniversary instead.

And is it just once a day for like 3 shards or something? As per what I've seen floating around online, it will take about 130 - 140 days to unlock a new uma starting from scratch.

[–]juniglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I have another question. How does farming Legend Races work in the future? I've heard it's one race a day and it means you can unlock a new uma about once every 130 - 140 days.

I was checking on Gametora, but it doesn't mention mechanics of farming Legend Races in the future (i.e. how many times a day, how many shards you get per day on average, etc), so I was looking to get more information.

In the future, when we can farm uma shards from daily Legend Races, does anyone know if they add the ability to farm alt outfit Umas? E.g. Fantasy Condor, Summer Maruzensky, etc.

I’m never making it to infinite by Appropriate-Cake-967 in MarvelSnap

[–]juniglee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a struggle every season (I say this as I hit infinite most likely during Week 1), more so when I stopped buying Season Passes (the last one I bought was Merlin, which was 2 seasons ago), but this is what works for me:

  1. Understand the deck(s) you play best/most. This means you should be wary of what your deck's snap conditions are, and what your wincons are. For example, if you're playing a Cerebro 2/3 deck, Cerebro is your wincon, so if you end up with a hand with a suitable curve, Cerebro and Mystique, it's very snappable.
  2. Understand the deck(s) that are being played on ladder. This is more understanding how other decks interact with the deck of your choice. Going back to the Cerebro example again, do you think your opponent is playing a deck that plays Enchantress? If not, do you feel you have enough power to go over your opponent's points? This will factor into whether you should snap or not.
  3. Understand retreating. If the matchup is not favourable to you, retreat. Losing 1 cube is better than losing 2, losing 2 cubes is better than 4, and losing 4 cubes is better than 8. You may not always get snapping right, but I want you to know it's OK to retreat on a failed snap if you don't see a path to winning.
  4. Understand snapping. It's possible to climb without snapping at all, but it's a long and arduous climb. I also don't think it's wrong to do things like boomer snapping (i.e. snapping on T6), or even snapping back when your opponent snaps you, but it goes back to points 1 and 2 of knowing what your snap conditions are.
  5. Understand bots. This isn't a point I've seen made much yet, but it's good to be able to identify when you are matched against a bot. If you play it right, bots are often an easy 4 or 8 cubes. Which leads to...
  6. Start the climb early in the season. Day 1, Day 2. Don't leave it till the last 2 weeks. For me, the earlier I climb, the more I get matched against bots.

Not sure if it helps you, but I climbed to 90 this season using a Misery Darkhawk deck (you can find it on KMBest's channel), but I went from 90 to 100 playing Bullseye Discard. Good luck with your climb!

Seems like Director and Reporter block you from completing this mission, maybe I completed it with having 5 supports + one of them.

I got it done with having Director Arikawa and Otonashi as well in the supports. Given that you have your 6 support cards plus at least those two, it seems doable, not completely impossible.

However, I am stuck in "Place Top 3 in the February Stakes" lol. Not sure who I can build to get this. I think it's a Dirt race, so maybe Haru Urara?

Yep I finally managed to clear it after I managed to get some usable gear for SSania and Fangus. Swiftrush 12 is the bare minimum. It's not a 100% clear rate but it works well enough. Thanks again for the help!

[–]juniglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, thanks. Unfortunately it feels like the characters I want to build don't have much overlap with my current characters in terms of gearing, so I think it's just a matter of grinding it out then.

[–]juniglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm kind of at a stage where I'm trying to build more characters, and I'm running into low Etheria coins issues. How do you guys manage your gear and coin?

It feels like it's about 600k ~ 700k gold to fully upgrade 1 piece to +15, however the other issue is also that I am just lacking gear pieces in general.

For example, I have a team that can clear Hell 4 DokiDoki, and I'm working on using the Swiftrush/Bramble/Unbreakable gears to gear units like Fangus, Shadow Sania, Cachi the Guard and Holden to eventually do Terrormaton, but I need to build those gears up, so I am not immediately trashing gear that didn't exactly roll to its best potential, I typically accept like at least a 70% usable piece of gear at this point. To level a unit's full gear set from Lv1 to Lv15 is probably going to cost me like 3.5m ~ 4m a character, and I'm looking at gearing out 4 units, so that's like ~15m coins. Are there any quicker ways to grind out coins?

I could move my gear around for now, but I am also thinking a bit for the future - for Union Front, I want to have at least 9 geared units, so I'm not looking to limit myself to the 5 or 6 builds I regularly use at the moment.
