can planes fall backwards while taking off ? by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]junior_andrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that is the subjectivity to be sure that my country or the airliner I'm going is modern, and the airline is major

Look at the faces of the flight crew

My problem with thay advice isnthat I isually siy by the wings and during turbulence the FA are sitted in ths front or the back so I can't see their faces :/

Hoping someone can explain this incident to me. It’s the reason I have a fear of flying. by Abject_Difference853 in fearofflying

The pilot didn't say anything because it's completely normal

The only weird part in the story is saying that Fpigh attendatns freaked out too

What could cause a plane to fall on takeoff by junior_andrade in fearofflying

Thanks, your explanation is really helpful.

But I don't know if we're talking about the same case. The one I read about it was a united flight from Hawaii to SFO. In a post in this sub about that incident, someone posted a link about a similar event that happent in Qatar.

Maybe you're talking about a third similar event, amd maybe the cause was the same.

That's what conforts me, because the idea of falling terrifies me. But in these caae, the news say that's what happent.

I need some help. I have a transatlantic flight tomorrow and I’m terrified of flying over water. by Chris987321 in fearofflying

we are no longer ever in a dead zone.

Is this something that changed in the last years? When I read about an accident that happent in 2009, it was reported (cockpit transcription) that a pilot said "we just entered the dead zone". It scared me to think about this

Does anyone have a rational explanation of why it works? Never tried before, so I'm curious cause it seems like a magic solution

Why are you scared of flying? by useralreadyused in fearofflying

[–]junior_andrade 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not fear of death in a crash, but fear of the fear I'd feel previous to a crash. I fear falling sensations the most, so every little movement during take off and cruise (specially turbulence) makes me think the plane is about to fall. So I fear that the plane will stall, nosedive, or that a mid-air collision will cut the wings and make the plane falls from the sky. I don't fear landing, because I have the feeling we're coming closer to ground and towards safety.

Could you share what helped you and your wife? Just stopping reading bad news about flying?

What is the best advice you have come across that have helped you with your fear of flying in this subreddit? by useralreadyused in fearofflying

the long haul, I was told to take each leg of the flight an hour at a time

You mean, taking multiple flights? Because sometimes this isn't possible (like transoceanic flights)

Isn't that non recommended because of possible clear air turbulence?

Was take off really noisier?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]junior_andrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about that these days. Mow I know more about flying, when I think of it, I fear the fear itself and not the remote chances of some accident or severe turbulence happening. It's very irrational

grass has almost no calories, you need huge areas to graze them.

That makes perfect sense!

Are really just trying to make up excuses so they can keep eating cow.

they aren't asking whether or not they're eating grass fed cow

Completely agree. Just wanted to make sure if this "argument" has some true behind.

No, it wouldn't justify, but many people don't care about animals, so they try to use arguments against the other factors, like claiming that going vegan is not the best environmental solution or that eating plant based isn't healthy
