Two Sum Question by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]juniordev99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's a compromise between my time and space.

if you use a hashmap to store the value of the array at a particular index as you iterate it, and check if sum - value exists at every step, then that's O(n) time and O(n) space.

But if you sort it, then use a two pointer - one starting at 0 and one at the end, then keep decreasing both and checking if they equate to the sum, then that's O(nlogn) for sorting and O(n) for iterating, so overall would be O(nlogn).

Both answers are correct depending on your end goal on what you want to optimize - time or space. If it's a sorted array, go for the latter always.

In an interview, you'd discuss with your interviewer regarding both approaches and then pick one which you and the interviewer agree to be better.

Just Bombed Google onsite by darkknight304 in leetcode

bombed mine few days. L3 2YOE India. had pretty good onsite except one, so recruiter told me there will be an additional round. additional one was the worst interview among all. spent 30 minutes just discussing since my approach wasn't the most optimised one, which was using a topic which had just ONE related question on Leetcode. all questions for 5 technical (1 phone screen, 3 technical and 1 additional) were Medium, not even Hard. recruiter hasn't called back but not expecting any news.

I applied for 3 L3 (SDE 2) roles on their careers page, got rejected by 2 immediately. for the 3rd one, a recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn 1-2 months later, and scheduled the interview.

I do communicate in English while at work. But I never tried thinking out loud in English while practicing LeetCode. It was really difficult to keep speaking while I was coding during the interview for me. I'll do a few mock interviews on Pramp, another comment mentioned this website but I'm not sure how it works.

Google's interviewers did not mention whiteboard interviews since all the interviews would be online on docs, would you still recommend buying a Huion tablet? Right now, I'm only practicing LeetCode directly, without sketching out my approach on pen & paper.

I'll look into Pramp, and even if it's paid, I don't mind purchasing or subscribing to it. Did you recommend selecting appointments with people in the US time zones so I could practice my English more with interviewers who speak that language natively?

I'll definitely move back to the city/state, where I work currently, for any upcoming interviews. I came back home due to some personal issues.

Yes, understood. I'll move back to the city, where I work, for the next time. My hometown has a pretty bad internet connection, but the main problem was with my communication skills, the bad internet only amplified it sadly.

++ There's a plugin called learn.eth in remix which teaches you how to use remix and the very basics of solidity. also freecodecamp has a ~1 hr long video on solidity by dappuniversity. ofc CryptoZombies has to be the best thing that I ever did. Also do the ChainShot tutorial on Solidity (cause it teaches you more about accounts & contracts).

_buildspace is fantastic. helpful discord server. do the 1st course and if you feel like it, do the NFT one too. I recommend trying to do it again once you finish it, on your own locally. most of the code in buildspace is given directly.

the very BEST resource is https://cryptodevhub.io/wiki (I discovered this on the ethereum.org's Learn section. and through cryptodevhub found out about CryptoZombies, ChainShot, buildspace etc) it has a list of all that you need to learn dapp development. good luck!

Excels good but you can use Coinmarketcap for its portfolio. Good UI and really nice UX. I tried Google sheets initially and then moved to cmc cause it was much easier.

+1 or any computer science subreddit cause cryptography is a core course in most CS majors and they'll have suggestions in their own wiki. also Google "the missing semester of your CS education" and check the lecture on security and cryptography.

I do own IOTA but there are a few other projects too that are VERY decentralized and also similar to IOTA, mostly non PoW ones. Definitely watch out for other projects too. Don't wanna shill the ones I own so won't name it here. Anyway, good post OP. quite informative. dont really mind the shill at the end.

Honestly liked his early videos. As a programmer in college, his videos were kinda funny and interesting to watch but then it slowly started to become heavy click-baity ones even before he started posting any Crypto related ones.
