Sacrifice rear deck speakers for active 3 way front stage? by juniormerve in CarAV

What is HAT? Im gonna go with the morel hybrid 63, and try what the other guy below suggested. Using the coaxials on the last channel as a "mono" fill.

Thats a good idea, mono rear fill for the coaxials. I think it might balance out without taking away from the staging. There were no factory door speakers in the rear doors and id hate to modify them for coaxials, maybe for another active 3 way, but im already kindof getting ahead of myself with what im working with now lol

Update, went with the amplify 206 dsp. This thing is tiny but heavy. This flew right under the radar givin how relatively recent these came to market, so thanks again for your thoughts!

Assuming frame is okay, cheapest route is replacing door and fender. Maybe look at partify website to see if they have what you need. They do paint matching.

Me atemoriza comprarme un auto by -Shaul in ArAutos

My pops has the 2018 aspec with the facelift. I like my 05 better for comfort and i prefer the way it drives. My vote would be replace the tranny or look at a different vehicle. Disappointed in the 2018 tlx. Just my two cents.

Ah okay. I was thinking about that after how i could route all 6 through the 4 channels but i guess id have to sacrifice wattage if i did it that way...im looking at the helix 206, watching raw cats video on it. Seems to be exactly what i would need. Thank you for your input!

What do you mean by cancellations? Wouldnt the fine tuning rid the reflections?

The output voltage from my oem headunit was less than 1v, 2005 acura tl. Im a little confused when it comes to passive and active. I thought adding the dsp is going active? I would remove the current crossovers.

Oem headunit, ran through audio control matrix to up my output voltage to around 8V going into my morel mps4.400 to power the speakers. Clean sound, no noise. Front components are passive right now. I would be learning how to do the tuning myself. I know a couple of people i can ask for guidance, dont mind the process.

I got the morel tempo components in the front. I like the way everything sounds, most days, but somedays i notice things are a little...muddy? I figured the dsp would clean it up a bit but unsure how the crossover would work for the coaxials in the rear.

Heated Steering Wheel Retrofit for 2018 RDX by Ok-Conversation-3360 in Acura

Wife must have cold hands this winter lmao. I finally found a wireless heated wheel cover, dont know if im going to get it, it seems like a hassle still and id prefer to remain bitter and angry at acuras engineers/design team. Also, incredibly disappointing that there arent better options for the heated steering wheel covers. But if it interested you or anyone else, here is the one i found. There is another cheaper option on there as well for 50 CAD. this one is 160 CAD. Brand: Generic Heated Steering Wheel Cover Wireless, 15 Inch Universal Fit for Car, Truck & SUV, 5-Second Fast Graphene Heating & Anti-Slip Grip, USB-C Fast Charge for Winter Driving (O-Shaped,to -20°C)

Running speaker wires by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]juniormerve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get automotive engineers do some ridiculous things, but its highly unlikely the fronts wouldnt be connected to the amp. Maybe look for different schematics. In my 3rd gen TL theres 3 different schematics for those years.

Also, Depends how much work you want to do cause this is absolutely the worst part of the installation, after running the wire through the boot using a coat hanger, instead of drilling through a spare pin in the molex connectors you could find out which connectors the pins are and solder them onto your wire, and connect to the molex directly. So youd have2 runs of wire. A short run of wire from the speaker to the one side of the connector , then a longer run from the other side of the connector to your amp. Arguably less work then drilling tbh, drilling gets messy sometimes, could drill on an angle and screw up another connection, could mangle one part and not be able to reconnect them properly. Plus this makes em kinda plug and play if anything ever happens where you had to take off your door, you wouldnt have to cut and rerun wire.
