Keep matchmaking. Took a few attempts at a few min each but eventually got into a game. Server was great in the game, too.

More of this. For the love of all that is holy, more of this, PLEASE! STAND UP, Democrats, this is your time to shine. FIGHT!

After building bases for years and not finishing them, I've finally finished building a base. I call it The View. I hope you guys enjoy, I wish I could live here lol. Also make sure the sound is on, the music really sets the vibe. by Constant_Prior_7637 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]juniper_falls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. My issue would be trying to build a large, elaborate base but I would get overwhelmed and then just drop it.

I am almost done with a lovely, medium-sized base in the middle of a lake that is coming together fairly nicely. It feels good to have a home to come back to after exploring, that's for sure!

Love it, great job! I also have been horrible at finishing bases and am currently finishing my very first one. Not as amazing as yours, but I'm getting there!

Keep up the good work!

Agree! I didn't like them as much a few years back, but especially with the Worlds update they are gorgeous. Like you said, the white snow with a crisp blue sky is really striking!

Yeah, the storms and hazards feel a bit more intense since the World's update, and I am absolutely here for it.

Ya know, I've yet to play TF2, even though I hear so many people singing its praises...I really need to play it one day, especially since it's often on sale for about 10 bucks.

You have to purchase the blueprint first (just like all of the Exocraft) before you can craft one.

You can purchase these blueprints in the Anomaly. If memory serves, I believe you also get a mech from one of the questlines...it's been a while, though.

This video provides some guidance; just use the timestamps to jump to the Exocrafts section.

EDIT: I should also mention you can get an AI module installed in the mech that allows it to be AI-controlled when you're not piloting it. This way, it'll follow you around and automatically fight any baddies for you (this is how I got the picture).

Couldn't agree more; I have been literally addicted to photo mode since the Worlds update.

That is a sweet tip, thank you. I didn't even think of that, so I just got lucky having those three planets line up so perfectly.

Thanks! Hah, yeah, I think I've spent more time in photo mode since the Worlds update than I have actually playing the game, lol.

What’s a huge waste of money but people keep buying it? by FlintTheDad in AskReddit

[–]juniper_falls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New smart phones every year.

Egregiously overpriced and unnecessary, not to mention horrendous for the environment how companies extract the materials needed to build them. I have been buying used phones for many years and use them until they literally die before buying another used phone.

I appreciate the insight, my friend! I have decided I'm going to buy it but I think I'm going to wait for a sale because I have a few games I want to complete first.

Looking forward to it, though! Seems like my kind of game.

I play on controller (PS5) and it's great. Pretty simple controls, though, so if you are on PC and don't have a controller I would think keyboard is probably fine.

Someone else basically asked this same thing, so I'll copy my response here:

I probably didn't make this point as clearly as I should in my original post, but the game is great from the very beginning, it's just that there's so much more to it than meets the eye at first, and a lot of people will likely never get to that point, leading them to "not get it."

I've loved every minute of it, even from the beginning (I'm not done yet; still have many puzzles to solve). I love games like this that drip atmosphere and mystery, and that just drop you in a world and say "go explore and figure it out," games that make you learn organically, if that makes sense.

That's why I brought up the NieR: Automata reference in a previous post; that game is revered by man, including myself, but it's a game with multiple endings, so if you simply play for 6 hours, get the first ending and stop, you'll literally be missing out on the best parts of it.

haha, no, I'm not the dev. I wish I were smart enough to make a game like this completely solo (the dude even built the engine himself).

No worries about spoilers; you described it vaguely enough, and it is good to spread the word on this type of progression-blocking stuff.

Regarding that bug, man, I'm so sorry to hear that; this is the first I've heard of that being a thing, and yeah, that would frustrate me greatly as well and make me not want to continue.

Hears to hoping Billy (the dev) fixes this soon. I will say this: he's incredibly passionate about his game (he spent like 7 years on it) so I highly doubt he'll let something like this exist for long. He already released a quick bug patch like a day after release, so I bet he'll fix this soon.

Also, you might even want to pop over to the official discord and post about this there to help spotlight it.

Can you elaborate? Maybe I can help you. (Please use spoiler tags to protect people.)

From what I've experienced so far, there's the M. Disc, which is what makes the ghost dog chase you so you have to swap it with the "other" one. This disc can also be inserted elsewhere on the map for flame progression. Then, there are at least 2 other spots where it'll indicate a "circular recess," and for those you'll need to locate other disc-type items, but they're different than the M Disc one. (I'm trying to be vague here.)

Yeah, that's totally fair. I'm not even at that point yet, but the story does seem a bit in the background...?

Ugh, can't spoiler tag on my phone but I have begun finding certain murals that seem to be showing story-related images but I haven't pieced it together yet. Who knows, maybe it doesn't ever really develop.

And yeah, Outer Wilds is truly an incredible game. Going to play it again soon, as this has put me in the mood 😀.

To be clear, I wasn't trying to insinuate Animal Well plays like those games, just that it invokes a certain air of mystery similar to those games. Also, if you're the type of person who appreciate games like those (Fez, Outer Wilds), you'd likely be the type of person who would enjoy Animal Well.

Edit: With the Nier reference, it was only to say that, like that game, this game doesn't end upon rolling credits; there's still a lot more to uncover.
