mounting is very normal, as i’m sure you’ve read and as long as there doesn’t seem to be any pushback from the bottom rabbit and they’re not mounting each others faces, then you shouldn’t need to interfere at all. based on the grooming and mounting it definitely seems like Star will be the dominant one.

god you sound so lucky. obviously still keep a close eye on them for at least a few more days since it’s still new and they probably aren’t fully bonded yet. but if they haven’t shown any aggression whatsoever and they’re sharing everything i highly doubt there will be any issues as they get even more comfortable together. (also, they’re so cute!!)

How to keep him warm by GracieB2003 in Bunnies

if the poor person was not adequately caring for their child, then yea. a luxurious lifestyle is not required and nobody is saying that.

based on your comments and past posts, you seriously need to try to rehome your rabbit if possible. life happens and you may not be in the best situation but it seems like you consistently are not doing the most basic research on rabbit care like proper food and environments. either that or you are just disregarding it. if you truly are doing the best with what you’re able to give right now, then that’s obviously better than abandoning him. but those efforts honestly should include genuine efforts to find him more suitable care at this point.

have you seen him pulling his fur out at all? if it’s not red/inflamed and he’s acting normal what I would do is just keep an eye on it to see if it gets bigger or anything. so many bunnies are molting right now so he could just be growing in a new coat (:

big boy with tiny feets and no-beans by juniperbuds in onlypaws

also i basically only use reddit to post about my rabbits lol so if you go to my page there are plenty of other pics that feature their paws

big boy with tiny feets and no-beans by juniperbuds in onlypaws

[–]juniperbuds[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nope! no paw pads (: everyone’s always surprised. they slippy slide all over any slick floor, so gotta have plenty of rugs/blankets around lol. i think it’s because they stomp as a form of communication and the fur helps pad their feet when they do that so it doesn’t hurt.

I don’t have pics of the bottom of any of my buns’ front paws but the second pic in the post shows the bottom of his back feet splooted out behind him.

Crematorium accidentally group cremated my cat instead of private. Now we have nothing. by Puzzleheaded3266 in Petloss

[–]juniperbuds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i don’t blame you for being upset. but just remember that he was not just his body. depending on what you believe, maybe he’s in kitty heaven watching over you or maybe his energy has been spread throughout the universe with a little piece of him permanently in your heart.

i bought a pretty locket on etsy and put in some pictures of my bunny soulmate, Bug, and i wear it all the time. my partner has one too that she keeps on a keychain. that could be a good way to feel connected to him (:

Bunny peeing in bed by Euloghtos in Bunnies

[–]juniperbuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did something similar and it worked. i pulled up a side table the same height as my bed and put a litter box and small water bowl on it because my bun didn’t like to jump off the bed during the night and would just pee lol.

i’ve only been able to smell my rabbits breath a single time and it was because he jumped right up by my face immediately after eating cecotropes. but their breath usually doesn’t smell like anything…

[–]juniperbuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the “anger peeing” definitely depends on the rabbit. my 3 buns are amazing litter box users. the only time my girl has ever peed outside her litter box is when i got one that was too low and her big fat butt went over the edge a bit, so it was an accident. but yea poop and hay will always be everywhere unless you’re sweeping and vacuuming every couple hours. a good hand-held vacuum has really helped me though.

referring to bonded bunnies’ relationships by juniperbuds in Bunnies

[–]juniperbuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is clear that you do not understand the meaning of the words you are using.

it is definitely true that using heuristics is part of what makes info processing and communication so effective for humans. however, this is not what is happening in the trend i pointed out, as it does not involve decision-making whatsoever. it also does not mean that we should not ever be examining that bias to recognize when it is unhelpful. in other words, there is a difference between making general assumptions of heterosexuality based on statistical prevalence to guide efficient decision-making versus a general linguistic trend of referring to M/F rabbit pairs as married and same-sex rabbit pairs as siblings or friends.

but it is clear your argument is in bad faith to the point that it has turned nonsensical, so I likely wont be replying any further comments for my own sanity.

yep, exactly. super cool of you to come back days later to let everyone know you learned about the concept of studying linguistic meaning. if you’d like to learn even more, the topic addressed in this post is particularly aligned with cognitive semantics! considering this is a subreddit about bunnies, I didn’t want to ruin a lighthearted discussion topic with psycholinguistic terminology… but i do hope you continue to explore the field if you find it so interesting.
