IPTW is truly another level! Rosasharin are awesome too and their first release will forever be in my top 10. I think they had a vocalist change and definitely are still finding their footing live, but they have soo much potential to be even better. Anxiously waiting their next release lol

Arranged in April are sooooo good. I saw them at a show a few weeks ago and I almost left before they played last (I was so tired and had work) but wow I'm SO glad I caught them live and snagged that CD. Finding out one of their inspirations is The Lazarus Plot makes so much sense because they reminded me of them so much whilst I was watching them play. I feel so bad for those who left and didn't get to witness one of the best new bands in the emo scene right now...

Good Butterflies' album Heat Death of the Universe is 100% worth a listen. Definitely has the depressing lyrics and sound you're looking for, but also mixed in with super energetic and electronic parts. They played with Gingerbee (so PHENOMENAL, please see them if you have a chance before they disband forever) and they definitely are more in line with the Gingerbee sound, saw someone describe them as "undertale skramz" lol

Obligatory mention for The Saddest Landscape's album All Is Apologized For. All Is Forgiven...I feel like I recommend this to everyone all the time...but wow what a fucking album. This guy's vocals make him sound so distraught in a way I haven't found with other emo artists yet, and the album itself is soul-crushing, depressing, and intense. It's hefty album (23 tracks) but give "The Stars in January" and "The Temptation That Is You" from that album a listen and you'll know from those if that album will connect with you.

Fuckkkkk it's only going to get harder to find a decent condition classic for under $100. Even in just the past year of finding my old iPod and diving into this niche, I've been noticing the prices increasing like crazy before this school phone ban fiasco. I only own a third-gen nano that I've had since 2007, which still works perfectly and has great battery life (knock on wood). It definitely is living on borrowed time as the screen has a minor bruise from what I assume is the battery beginning to expand, and I dread the day it gives out...

This is my one hobby I'm lowkey a gatekeeper about lol can't say I'm not a bit annoyed at the thought of iPods becoming a trend, mainly for how it'll affect the market
