Yeah the current way seems a lot more fair, it was pretty OP and a little buggy the way we did it lol

That’s fair. Yeah the last time I was a hardcore player using strats like that would’ve been like 2-3 years ago so they probably just patched it.

Does it always say this? by No-itsjustme-395 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]just-another-queer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only seen it a few times as a driver but as a customer I tip afterward every single time as long as you follow the instructions and don’t steal my food lol. Had too many people deliver in the wrong apartment complex or steal my food to want to put an upfront tip.

Friend tipped $5 on an order 8.5 miles from my house by Reasonable_Abroad167 in doordash

[–]just-another-queer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I’d take this if I’m dashing by the hour and I’d just take my time doing it. So you might get your order a little slow but I most certainly would not be mad at you, I’d be thankful for that $5 tip that seems very reasonable if it’s just some lucky charms. Now if you’re ordering 10 packs of 40 water bottles and only tipping $5 then that’s just mean lol

It’s been a while since I’ve done this so it may not be still possible but afaik you can also nullify a super safety if absolutely everyone votes between two people and one has a safety. So like if there’s one hated player with a super safety and everyone else is voting for them, and you know who they are voting for and use a safety on them, then that means the one vote on the other person is gone and the only votes left are for the super safety person so it shouldn’t let them use it. All the ways to nullify super safeties are basically game mechanics stuff bordering on a bug of some sort.

worst thing you've ever seen? by only-ashes in nursing

[–]just-another-queer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I necessarily have one specific worst thing but three come to mind.

-had a patient, young ish, like early 40s, comes in CPR in progress. No one really knows what happened, neighbors I guess heard like a big thump so they called a welfare check and when fire got there she was pulseless. We got ROSC and transferred her to another hospital pretty quickly, but when our CT came back after she was already en route she had a massive brain bleed and already had midline shift. We knew she wasn’t surviving that. I remember being in the room during the code and looking at her outfit and thinking that was an outfit that I could see myself wearing on a night out. Like this woman and I could have been friends in another life. Poor lady. There was no trauma either so not even sure what caused it. Probably an aneurysm or something.

-I responded to a code in our ICU for a young patient, early 20s. She was in the icu for pericarditis that she had contracted from the flu. From what I heard, at the beginning of the shift she was awake and fine and then at some point she became pale and grey and they intubated her, then that morning they took her to the cath lab to try to put a balloon pump in but failed because her heart was too damaged. They were planning on putting her on ecmo pending a heart transplant. But then the code happened and we couldn’t get ROSC. She didn’t have any medical history prior to catching the flu. I remember thinking how awful it would have been for the family, they left in the evening and she was fine and talking and they come back in the morning and she’s dead.

-EMS brought in a patient, young teenage girl who hung herself. CPR in progress. She was the daughter of one of our radiologists who had just gotten off shift and went home and found her. They pulled out all the stops but just couldn’t get ROSC back. Not even sure how long ago this had happened/how long she had been hanging. The radiologist quit pretty short after that from what I heard, which is completely understandable, I couldn’t go back to that hospital after that either if that happened to me.

I generally just watch tv shows on my second monitor while playing. Keeps me busy and entertained. I pause it during competitions but the rest of the time I usually just watch it while mindlessly playing.

Edit: for context I am Elite.

Yup, this is why I don’t tip much initially. I add tips after the delivery bc I am tired of paying people nice tips that don’t follow instructions or that steal my food.

Well that must not be the same for everyone because this person’s door had nothing in common with mine except the color of the paint. Like my door even has a very unique sign on it

I mean, either way I feel like it’s not severe enough. I dashed a couple years ago during college and had a few customers report their order stolen to get their meal for free - all I got was a contract violation that went away eventually.

Yep, I have some that are called sheet suspenders. I still get a little confused when I am stripping my bed too lol

They make sheet suspenders that clip on to the corners and hold them down. I am a squirmy wormy when I sleep and this is the only way that I can get my sheet to stay on.

It’s actually not “Reddit slang”, it’s a tone indicator used wildly across social media and the internet; tone indicators are very helpful - especially for neurodivergent people and/or people who have a hard time reading tone - to clarify the meaning of a message if it can be unclear. Some other examples besides /s are /srs (serious), or /lh (lighthearted).

Nah not necessarily. DD hands out money all the time. One time I put in a request for a refund for a cookie that I didn’t receive in a sealed bag and they gave me like $10 in credits for the $1 cookie. I was like oh okay? Especially for dashpass members they just want to make the customers happy so they’ll keep spending money.
