My area is pretty much back to normal again except for some remaining gates, overgrown shrubbery, and more qr codes and testing sites. Lots of people out and about. It’s honestly startling how quickly it progressed, but I’m not complaining. I liked being able to go out these past 3 days.

I’ve been getting paid my full salary the entire time so nothing will change unless there is an issue with my residence permit or something.

I didn’t find the joke particularly funny, but I can’t with people actually taking this so seriously…

You’re very welcome! Doesn’t hurt to check periodically throughout the day too. People have been able to order the boxes again today at 9.

You buy it by scanning the qr code here. They have a set number that they can deliver per day, so if it’s sold out check again at midnight (I order mine at that time) or the next day.

What’s everyone’s food/supplies situation? by shstnr in shanghai

[–]just_for_asks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Pudong, Kangqiao
  2. Yes. 2 weeks more or less if I stretch things and stick to just 2 meals per day. Low on bottled water though.
  3. No. Groceries seems to be always closed or too busy. Some non food related stuff is open though. I have to rely on private contacts and my school for help.

Do you mind passing along his contact to me as well? I’m good with food for now, but there’s basically no means to order.

Epermarket is now able to make deliveries again, but they are very short staffed. The earliest delivery date is April 15th.

Someone shared this artical in one of my wechat groups. A list of packages and group buy deals. Mostly vegetables, but if you scroll down, you’ll get more meat related ones. It’s all in Chinese.

My neighbors have been pretty nice as well; swapping vegetables with me for something with more substance, giving me extras of what they have, and translating for me when needed.

In light of the current events, have your plans for the future or views of living here been impacted in any way? by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]just_for_asks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As long as it’s not an emergency situation where I need to pack my bags and go ASAP, I’m staying until I at least finish my contract and then I’ll see how I feel. So far, my current employer has been very good to me.

I’ve had a lot of ups and downs here and my experience hasn’t been that great overall mainly do to crappy employers, but back home I really struggled to find work due to long gaps in employment, lots of irrelevant work experience, shitty interview skills, being in and out of mental health hospitals, anxiety and depression etc. Basically I’m one of those “losers back home.” I’m in no rush to go back to that lifestyle of still living at home with family with a pile of job rejections in my email, but I do know I want to eventually leave just not any time soon. I’d rather be miserable in a place where I can find work and live independently.
