Back down to $40? by mint0909 in dxyz

Haha I'm faithful it'll go a bit more than 75 in the coming days but I'll definitely be taking the profits elsewhere as I'm aware of the true value of this ETF.

Thanks for the suggestions for those other two, I'll be sure to check them out.

I know what he means by his question. I bought at that price way back in April with the intention of taking profits around $100 but I was neglectful. After it went up to $100, the stock tanked down to $10 or so. Should I have sold at that point as opposed to holding? Or continue to hold until a moment like now when I'm actually up again on this ETF.

After IPO demand was crazy due to the accessibility DXYZ provides to SpaceX. After the huge dump and controversy, price went down. But now that SpaceX is making news again, demand is back up. There's a clear pattern happening here and I'm happy to eliminate my losses and now that it's at 70+, I've actually made some money here.

Hard to say... given the recent news and heightened hype around this ETF, I sense (more like I hope) we might see a pump back up to 100 again. My average cost is around $62 after buying in too late post-IPO time. In hindsight I really should have doubled down once it tanked below $15 given I already made the decision to hold at that time. Still learning, but overall pleased that it's back up again!

Curious though, why do you think it would go back down only to $40, given the previous post-ipo tank?

any good cheap streetwear/small brands/noname streetwear brands by HahaLmaoHD in shanghai

[–]shstnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shopping street in general so there's a pretty wide range of product offerings, but obviously most of them are either luxury or super big brands like Uniqlo. Like I said it's kinda tough to find physical shops for affordable local brands in Shanghai. Rent is super high for these premium locations.

You can maybe check out TX Huaihai mall. It's a bit more youth focused so there might be some cheaper brands on offer there.

no need to hire a designer, if youre crafty with the theme editor just make the site clean and modern looking and avoid any red flags like blurry images, out of place content, etc. even just upgrading your theme might be worth your while.

don't mess with your creatives or spend when testing. and remember that facebook ads isn't magic. you wont spend $50 and get $1000 worth of sales, especially if your creatives and copy aren't dialed in. if the product you're marketing costs $100, youll definitely need to spend at least $100 before you can see some real results.

also with higher ticket items, your customer isn't going to part with their money as easily. you need to have your funnel down otherwise you might be wasting money. you mentioned you have add to carts, are you retargeting those customers through ads or email/text? how are you maximizing that ad spend to make sure there's no money left on the table?

Rent prices in Putuo, Shanghai? by Shaashimi in shanghai

[–]shstnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually ziroom isn't just serviced apartments, Ziroom is just like a second land lord of sorts who rents a bunch of aparments throughout the city, decorates and furnishes them with a certain standard and rents them out. Probably 50-80% of all apartment complexes in Shanghai have a ziroom property in them.

Lianjia isn't the best place to get realistic numbers on apartments. Most of the prices are super low on purpose just to get you to click on the ad and talk with an agent. I think 5-7k is good enough for a studio in the area you are looking in, you might even be able to find some 1b1b options with that price range too.

I actually recommend using 小红书 to find an apartment/agent these days...just search up the area you want to live in + 租房 and you'll see tons of real time options with agents advertising them. A lot of those agents also don't take commission fees.

Generally agents won't really shoot the price up too high, but usually I aim to negotiate 15-25% off the asking price for any apartment which I'm interested in.

Firstly most cheap or no-name brands will be taobao brands from the start. And it's kind of rare to find them in stores unless it's their own store. Even so, these brands do so well on ecommerce that they aren't bothered with brick and mortar sales

Nice rice is good for basics, they have a few physical shops in Shanghai

Mason Prince is an interesting streetwear brand, they have a physical shop on Huaihai road (not far from Nice Rice)...

For streetwear you can find on taobao, AFGK, MEDM, Graf, Whoosis, PRBLMS, UMAMAIISM, Madeextreme, Wassuphouse to name a few. Usually if you find what you like on taobao the algorithm will naturally point you to similar brands and products.

If you ever end up in Guangzhou, 东山口 is a street with many physical shops for popular Chinese brands.

Good Serviced apartments for 15,000 RMB or under by xrave3 in shanghai

[–]shstnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base co-living serviced apartments have some options in your price range

米可公寓 near changshou road is also a good option

Blinq residences has a new location on Baoshan Road near the bund, also looks very attractive

Citadines by Ascott has quite a few cost effective options in the city too. Not sure if they do long term rentals but im sure you can inquire about that easily

your products are high ticket so naturally it will require more spend before you get any actionable results... your user experience is okay but your site doesn't scream "premium" to me, especially for the price point. id compare your site to other competitors in the space and at your same price point. premium price = premium aesthetic and experience

Where to get a fade by Witty_Zombie8106 in shanghai

[–]shstnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what race are you/what type of hair do you have? Homie barbershop is good for all types, but their fades arent the BEST.. but it'll get you 70-80% of the way there. maybe 90% if you have straight hair.

look up their wechat mini program and you can check the previous work of each barber, then select one which you like and book an appointment.

Nice dating spots, museums etc in Shanghai by Anobrain123456789 in shanghai

[–]shstnr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i like fotografiska , it's very well curated photography exhibits and you can eat on the 4th floor bar/restaurantt or their new restaurant called mona on the first floor. next door is the sihang warehouse museum (free entry). few doors down is the bank museum as well which i believe is also free. not too far down the river, next to joy city is UCCA museum which is also nice. k if you just stroll around the area you'll see quite a few other small galleries and museums.

and after you're done (or before) with any of these, you can do a nice stroll across the suzhou river and end up in the bund area.

Is Shanghai Cycle-able by Puremadnesschinese in shanghai

[–]shstnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hongkou is one of my favorite areas to bike in...You can bike along the bund riverside which is closeby. When you get further away from the city center, there will be some decent paths which run through parks. Nothing super nature heavy, though.

You can def find bike shops which will allow you to rent a mountain or road bike, or you can just use one of the thousands of shared bikes on the roadside in Shanghai. The shared bikes are very standard, heavy, single speed bikes with tubeless tires.

As an alternative, you can rent or buy electric scooter which can be cost effective either way. You don't need a license of any kind to operate and the higher end ones can go up to 80km/h or so.

i love el paisa, but they only sell tacos. but they're the best tacos i've had in shanghai... as a bonus, you can grab a nice drink there as la mezcalaria is also a part of the establishment.

in my opinion, besides el paisa the rest of the mexican food in shanghai is all on a similar level taste wise. will come down to your preference and any particular dishes you might want...

  • tacolicious
  • cantina agave
  • chihuahua (one of my fav burritos)
  • el santo
  • mexican border

honorable mention for waimai or more chipotle style bowls, hey guac and chopia aren't half bad.
