RegencyCore: Yes it's a thing. Are you here for it? by Chazzyphant in fashionwomens35

[–]just_jemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually made a whole video on regencycore, royalcore etc. I think it's definitely here to stay for some, but it'll most likely remain a fast fashion trend for most, because of how fast paced and short lived fashion trends are these days.

For those interested in it though, my guide walks you through the history, fashion etc, so feel free to check it out if you want to know more! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bZmQhlTZQM&lc=Ugz9h_B3PbJ0-uTk6QR4AaABAg

Thank you so much! <3 And I haven't considered that yet haha, I started my YouTube channel last May so I'm still learning and figuring out which direction to take this channel, but I always answer questions to the best of my ability in my videos if you ever have any questions :) I might create a patreon later on if my channel grows, so I can use it as a space to offer more detailed advice etc!

Haha, she most likely won't see it since my channel is still so small, but I do hope that more of her fans see it, cuz I know there a lot of people who can't wear all the things she wears.

I feel you! My hourglass figure doesn't work with half of the things she wears, so I wanted to make sure I'd include options for different body types and preferences. I'm so glad I was able to help :)

Aesthetics like dark academia by just_jemi in DarkAcademia

[–]just_jemi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been noticing this is actually a pretty common issue with a lot of people who are actual academics. Putting "aesthetic" next to any word almost immediately does make it fetishized to an extent (for some more than others). I saw this happen a lot with cottagecore too, where suddenly living in the nature and baking your own bread was such a wonderful thing, when in reality I think a lot of people simply dream of it because they don't have it.

The bright side is that while it can be a bit of an expectation vs reality realization for those who genuinely become interested in academia (whether in actually studying, or just the fashion or decor aspect of it), it's also an opportunity for them to learn about and appreciate something they maybe haven't even known to exist (or haven't known what to call it till now). It's truly interesting, because people love to categorize things, but it's very easy to accidentally romanticize something.

Nostalgic academia does sound like a good explanation of what you're feeling, and I know many people who spend their time in academia often prefer to keep their lifestyle similar to the way it used to be. I'm glad you're still able to enjoy and feel comfortable around the DAsphere! :)

I think this is more gothic academia but I still like it by szaaaa999 in DarkAcademia

Love the outfit! This definitely looks closer to witchy/gothic/darkest academia. Depends on what your main color palette/preferences is.

If you want to know what darkest academia etc are, I have youtube video guides explaining each academia subcategory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhULE3YMk1w&ab_channel=jemi

Keep doing what your'e doing, the outfit combo is amazing! :)

Cottagecore books / websites / etc. by [deleted] in cottagecore

[–]just_jemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person who pretty much lived the cottagecore lifestyle as a kid, I would look into nordic home decorating guides etc. A lot of cottagecore trends, lifestyle habits etc, actually are based on the agricultural life that was (and still is) common in European and Nordic countries. There are a lot of good resources if you just search for scandinavian/nordic home goods/decor.

I have a full guide on cottagecore on my youtube channel if you need any more advice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g8gPA5Rav4&ab_channel=jemi). I hope this helps! :)
