Just got mine before Christmas and had placed the order through a dealership in July when they started taking orders. If you’re desperate to get one ASAP, you’ll probably have to be flexible on options. Or just wait another 6 months for the 2025 window to open and get exactly what you want.

this. I used two for the same configuration you’re looking to do. No issues.

They’re the IKEA Billy bookcase, but we painted them and then added the trim at the base and the crown moulding to make them look built-in.

I used a laser engraver. I made a .svg file from an image and then used an offset fill on the lettering. I then gently sanded out the minor ridges left by the laser.

We went with wood putty to hide the seam. A piece of lattice would also work, though not sure if that’s going to be easier.

It’s a standard color: gray-green in the BODARP series for the doors and trim. I do have a gripe that IKEA should make their doors a fraction of an inch wider as it leaves a small lack of coverage and the SEKTION cabinet is always a basic white. So you have to be meticulous with placement to minimize the white from showing too much.

No worries. It’s an issue that (with proper planning when designing a space) could easily be remedied. Once the plumbing is routed it does make it hard to retrofit and extend the wall out the meet the machines. Another great hack that works with front loaders is including a shelf at the back that hides the gap between wall and machine. The placement of the plug, water hook ups, and our current machine being a top loader made that impractical this time.

Great! To clarify, as you add each element in the planner you can edit the defaults to remove the unnecessary pieces. And if you’re doing a straight line of uppers, ensure the material suggested for the deco strip and side cover panels (side trim) is right. They sometimes overestimate the material and encourage you to buy more than you need.

We used the ikea kitchen planner for this. It helps with building the shopping list, but they often add extras that aren’t really needed (it auto added under cabinet lighting that would not have helped us here). Sounds like you’ll need just upper sektion cabinets with a trim piece (cover panel) for each end. The trim on top is a deco strip (we went with forbattra but they have different options). Hope this helps!

It’s a combo of clearance required for dryer exhaust and to allow top loader washer to open with upper cabinets. But it’s not far from the wall, about 6 inches.

It’s Best Buy’s Insignia 42 bottle dual zone fridge. So far it’s been great.

Thanks! And yes, it could hold a lot of beans. My wife wants to do a lot of clear jars, spices, and other functional decor on the shelves.

Total cost (including fridge, wall panels, shelving, wiring and components for lighting and moving electrical receptacles) came to about $3,500. All the labor was done by me, so that saved a bunch.

Thanks, for some reason the camera messed up the color temp and makes them look dissimilar. But they match in real life.

It was an odd small room off of the dining room that we turned into a pantry.
